Things I’m Loving Friday #134

May 13, 2016 by Julie 43 Comments

The weekend is here! Woohoo! This week passed by in a flash. We were quite busy this week but a busy week usually means a fast week so I’m sitting here feeling amazed it’s Friday already. I’m also feeling pretty darn happy since we have lots of fun things on the agenda this weekend. We’ll be attending a birthday party and swim lessons and celebrating a belated Mother’s Day since we spent all day last Sunday driving from Florida to Jacksonville.

But now it’s time to keep things consistent and dive into your weekly Things I’m Loving Friday blog post! Below you will find a small list of things that are making me smile this week and, as always, I’d love to hear a little bit about what you’re loving this week in the comments section of this post. Have a lovely weekend, my friends!

Things I’m Loving Friday

  • Sleepy Sadie

Sleepy Sadie

Though watching Sadie joyfully bound around outside in her element brings me so much happiness, there is something about sleepy Sadie I just adore. Seeing Sadie tired is such a stark contrast to her usually energetic and needy personality and it just melts my heart. I snapped this photo of her on my phone when we were in Jacksonville last weekend and she passed out after a romp on the beach. Love my sweet girl!

  • Sweet Mother’s Day Surprise from BBC

Footprint Butterfly Craft for Mother's Day

Miss Lindsey outdid herself again! She surprised a bunch of the Burn Boot Camp mamas with the cutest Mother’s Day gifts from our babies. Having tried to get Chase’s footprints myself a time or two, I know it is no simple feat (<- can’t resist a good pun!), so I am so grateful to Lindsey for such a sweet and thoughtful gift! She’s the BEST.

  • Fabletics Swimwear

Fabletics Crest Bikini

Two weeks ago, Chase and I started swim lessons. (I’ll fill you guys in more about this soon. We are LOVING them!) Before we went to our first lesson, I asked one of my girlfriends who recommended the lessons to me what to wear and she replied, “Just a swim diaper is fine!” No, no, no… I meant what should I wear? Ha! I had no idea what moms typically wear to swim lessons… Speedos? Tankinis? Bikinis?

I busted out an old one-piece from my diving days and while it worked just fine for the first lesson, it felt a little too snug for real long-term wear, so I started to look for another option. And then I got an email from Fabletics with their May styles that featured swimwear! WOOP! I immediately ordered the Crest bikini which fits almost like a long sports bra with a higher neckline and coverage right past my ribcage. Perfect for grabby baby hands! I love the mesh detailing and sporty look!

  • $1 Notecards

Target $1 Notecards

Target’s Dollar Spot gets me every time. After Chase’s 9-month check up on Wednesday afternoon, we popped into Target to make a return and I immediately got sucked into the Dollar Spot as always. This section of the store simply calls to me and I usually find something I didn’t know I needed – like a new candle, tumbler, gift bag, etc. – and on Wednesday I threw a couple adorable $1 notecards into my cart. I always try to keep blank cards on hand at home and thought these designs were so cute! Can’t beat that for A DOLLAR.

  • Kentucky Derby Outfit

Kentucky Derby Party

For those who asked, here are the details from my Kentucky Derby party outfit! I am sorry I once again forgot to include them in my blog post. I will try to get better about this!!!

Top: O’Neill Trina Open Back Crop Top (via Nordstrom – The back is the best part! It’s backless with a pretty bow at the bottom. Just FYI, I wore a sticky bra with it.)

Skirt: Aritzia Wilfred Narrateur Skirt (via ThredUp – Bought it for $20 and the tags were till on it!)

Shoes: Charles by Charles David (via RueLaLa)

And Ryan’s suit is from Suit Supply and Chase’s bow tie outfit is from Nautica.

I love Fabletics and somehow missed the notice that they now sell swim wear, so awesome. I’m loving the fact that after a few crazy weekends I have nothing planned besides maybe getting a pedicure and catching up on the DVR. =)

Sounds like a super fun weekend! I’m pumped to hear about swim lessons. Gosh, I’m sure he’s adorable in his little swimmies, whether or not he loves them. 🙂

I recently got a new, more athletic bikini and I love it! I’ve always been a little uncomfortable in pieces that I feel like are going to shift out of place. While I’m prepping for my wedding (NO TAN LINES!), I can’t wait to wear this everywhere starting early July.

Have so much fun this weekend!

For me, the Fabletics swimsuit I bought seemed right on for my normal size! (If you’re between sizes, I’d prob go down, but my normal sizes worked just fine.) The Lorna Jane shorts I bought are the cupid red run shorts and the slouchy gray gym shorts!

I love your Kentucky Derby outfit.. and Chase’s too! The question is: how do you nurse in a top like that. When I am nursing I always have the hardest time picking out an outfit that I love and is also convenient for nursing.

Hi Julie! I haven’t ordered a suit from Fabletics yet, so thanks for the push to do so. I have a very similar swimsuit from Express actually that I will be debuting this summer by the pool (or perhaps on a vacay, I hope)! Yes, I love to see my dog sleeping too. So sweet. Hope your weekend is fabulous, lady! 🙂

I don’t have a large chest, but I do think their sports bras are a little lower cut than others, so they might not be the BEST for larger chests… though I do think they have some higher ones for running that would work!! And the swimsuit does fit true to size!

I started my daughter in swim lessons when she was five months old (she’s fifteen months old now) and it’s amazing how much and how quickly they learn! She can swim almost two feet in distance underwater now! We love swim class and I also love that she’s learning life safety skills while having fun with her mama and other kids!

I was a swim instructor and I taught babies as young as 3 months! It is amazing that when you start them young the skills they can learn. How to float on their back, how to swim to the side and then use their hands to take them to the stairs, and even how to climb out on their own! All before they turn 2! I am a big proponent of starting swim lessons early!
