Head-ah-cha-cha

June 21, 2011 by Julie 87 Comments

This morning I awoke with a headache… or a “head-ah-cha-cha,” as Ryan and I say. (Any other Everybody Loves Raymond fans out there?)

I don’t typically get headaches, so I wasn’t really sure how to approach my morning workout. My body felt fine, but my head just wasn’t right.

I walked to the gym with Ryan, saying I’d take it a bit easy on the cardio this morning. I completed 20 minutes on the treadmill (10 minutes of incline walking, 10 minutes of jogging) before rounding out my cardio with 10 minutes of light cardio on the elliptical.

Since my headache was still lingering, I decided to head upstairs and take a yoga class. Calming stretches and methodic breathing sounded perfect. And it was.

I emerged from the yoga class feeling much better. My headache dissipated for the most part and I was ready to tackle the day.

Or, you know, a 40-minute walk with this monster:

We walked around the lake near our apartment before heading home to gossip about The Bachelorette on the PBF Facebook page make breakfast.

Breakfast

Oddly enough, my taste buds were pining for something savory this morning. As a full-fledged sweets lover, I typically prefer to start my day on a sweet note with smoothies, yogurt bowls or chocolate overnight oats.

Today, however, I wanted last night’s dinner!

I took a leftover salmon burger and served it atop a toasted onion bagel with an egg white.

Enjoyed with a hot mug of coffee and a fresh nectarine, this breakfast was on point!

Random Thought

Just a random thought I had this morning that I have to get off my chest before signing off for the morning…

How come you never see a rogue eyebrow hair in its intermediary stage? It’s like it grows into a beast overnight! How does this happen?

Feel free to share an obscure thought you’ve had today in the comments section of this post. I love getting a little random up in here!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Seriously I know EXACTLY what you are talking about with the rogue eyebrow hair! It’s the smallest little stub when you go to bed and when you wake up, it’s a long beast of a hair! Haha loving this morning’s randomness on your blog 🙂

Her insecurities are starting to get really annoying. I hope next episode the men turn on her so she can get a wake up call and see all the guys that actually want her.
It is starting to get a bit pathetic.

LOL maybe it’s because they grow while you sleep?!?! I always sees them when they’re a little stub that’s too small to be plucked, and then it grows into a whole hair!!

I love all the Bentley bashing on your comments 😉

I’ve never been attracted to the bad boys, and I’d like to keep it that way!

haha I hate that! when it’s itty bitty it’s too short to pluck and then it becomes a nasty monster than is just begging for your tweezers.

ahh I don’t watch the Bachelorette until Tuesdays, I’m dying to see it!

And haha loved your randomness this morning- I think that all the time about eyebrows! One day they are looking fine and all of the sudden you have a situation on your hands!

I pulled a blonde hair about an inch long off my chest this morning whilst at work….it baffled my mind because I’m brunette and scared me. I guess the old saying that goes “eat your veggies, they’ll put hair on your chest” is true!! Oh mom, you’re always right!!!

    Random thought…

Why do people feel the need to wear their sunglasses inside? Unless you just got your eyes dilated or you’re playing poker its absolutely tacky. I work at an apartment community and I get people coming in for tours all the time like that. On the outside, sure. In the apartment though? Really? I always want to ask, “I’m sorry, is it too bright in here for you?”

Re: eyebrow hairs — that was me yesterday! I was sitting at my desk and ran my finger over my brow….where did that come from?? I tweeze every night! Drove me CRAZY all day.

All the magazines warn you not to overpluck b/c sometimes they don’t grow back — how come the “not growing back” thing doesn’t happen the ones that make me look like Bert’s long-lost cousin?

I know it’s for commuting reasons, but why must middle aged women wear grandma looking floral dresses/skirts and then add to the beauty of it all wear bleach white tennis sneakers and tube socks…okay for comfort but I can sacrifice for style.

This is really weird, but the times that I do catch an eyebrow hair before it turns into a monster, when it is a little black dot, I squeeze it, and it comes out!! I don’t know how I discovered this, but I imagine my skin really appreciates my the way I treat it!

Oh my gosh those sneaky eyebrow hairs are the worst!! I just discovered two this morning on the way in to work (yes, I do look at my eyebrows in my rearview mirror at red lights… haha bad habit) I’m glad I’m not the only one they sneak up on. Tricky little follicles

Random thought: where are all the baby pigeons? Are they in hiding until they’re a full adult? Are they just born massive? Why is it that I only see what I think are adult pigeons- they’re all the same size! 🙁

Oh! And you can totally purchase a onesie at target. My friend got me one for christmas one year (I’m in my 20s) and I love it! Wear it on chilly december nights. Best part is, mine glows!! Oh yess..its green with dinosaurs on it and the word “roarr” glows all over 😉

Random thought of the day: When’s the last time someone said “you’re welcome” ?? I hear “No, thank you!” “No problem” “uh huh” “my pleasure” but its like politically incorrect to recognize you did something nice for someone else / we’re really informal! I feel bad for “you’re welcome”!

I get killer migraines and if they aren’t too bad I usually try to run for a half hour or so and that usually gets rid of them. I’ve never tried yoga though, I will have to do that next time! Glad it worked for you!

Random dumb thought……on a flight I was on yesterday, we took off an hour late and ‘made up 45 minutes in the air so we landed only 15 minutes after our scheduled time. I don’t get how you can make up so much time in the air…fly faster? If thats the case why wouldn’t they be flying faster all the time? It’s not like they work that much time into the estimated arrival.

Told you it was dumb…but I really do want to know!

Haha omg totally laughing out load to the eyebrow comments…that has so happened to me and I’ve wondered the same!! This sounds gross, but I’ve found a long (at least a couple inches) very very fine white hair grown on my back!! I was itching my back one day thinking is was just one of my head hairs on my back, but no, it was attached!! LOL! It must run in my family b/c it’s happened to my mom before, although on her chest!

I think I’m addicted to blogs. Where is the nearest 12 step program. Or do they have one for blog addicts?

Headache city over here. I live for the days when I wake up without them. But I have found getting up and moving no matter how feel makes me feel better. Most days.

I have a theory about the hairs!!!

If they’re anything like the random 1-inchers I get on my chin (I mean…), I think they simmer beneath the surface not unlike an ingrown and then one day when the pore opens BAM there it is.

So uncalled for, I know. Your breakfast sandwich looks amaazing!
