La Bouche Lover

July 6, 2011 by Julie 91 Comments

Guess who was too sore from Monday’s BodyPump class to do his typical Wednesday legs workout at the gym?

Heavy-lifer he-man Ryan! He said his quads were too sore from his first BodyPump experience to do his regular workout today. Apparently all those squats and lunges in BodyPump can even take out the big boys!

MY workout today began with 20 minutes of cardio on the elliptical before I headed into BodyPump to get my ‘Pump on!

I am really enjoying the new release and have to stop myself from singing and dancing to the remix of “Tonight is the Night” that is played during the back track. I was seriously obsessed with La Bouche when I was younger, so anytime I hear a La Bouche song (even a remix version), I get pumped up!

                la bouche

My friend Michaela and I made up an awesome dance to La Bouche’s “Be My Lover” when we were younger and I assure you that it would put any dance you’ve ever seen on So You Think You Can Dance to shame. Our choreography included moves like the jazz square and grapevines. Oh yes. Michaela is actually a bridesmaid in the wedding I am in on Saturday as well, so maybe we’ll bust out our dance on the dance floor. I’ll be sure to have Ryan record it so I can never post it on the blog. Muhaha!

Breakfast

After the gym and a long walk with Sadie, my Vitamix was calling to me.

Bleeeeend something. I cost as much as a purebred puppy. Use me.

And use it I did!

I blended up a delicious extra chocolaty smoothie bowl and loved every last slurp.

I’m thinking we should start a PBF smoothie club. I love how many of you have become smoothie addicts this summer like me. We should make shirts or something.

And speaking of shirts, the PBF ones are still in the works! I promise to unveil the finalized design as soon as I have it for you guys!

I swear the reason why my husband won’t go to Pump isn’t because he thinks its a chic’s class, its because he is afraid it will kick his butt! LoL

I’ve never used protein powder before, but after seeing so many delicious looking recipes (many of them from your blog) I’ve been really wanting to get some.

The only thing is I don’t really strength train often (I usually just go for runs). Would it still be beneficial to get protein powder ?

I used to always make up dances with my friends when we were younger. Britney’s “Lucky” and “oops, I did it again” . Yup, and I’m not ashamed to admit it!

OH my gosh. Last week, I repeated Be My Lover like 6 times during my run! Sometimes when the song changes– so does your tempo. Be My Lover was really workin for me last week. I loved the beat for a pace-setter. If it’s not broke don’t fix it.

Smoothies are one of the best things about summer! 🙂 My friends and I used to make up dances all the time as well. The one that I remember the most was to “Batter Up” by Nelly. SO embarrassing! lol

I’ve been making a lot of smoothies, too, since we got the Vitamix blender. Mine are usually berry smoothies though! We froze a ton of berries and I just pull a few out to make my morning smoothie.

I totally need to buy a vitamix or something… I was never one for smoothies (I like to chew my meals), but yours always look scrumptious!

Haha you are relentless. At least he wasn’t a typical man about it and admitted it made him sore! My brothers never think my workouts (bodyrock, insanity, mens health workouts) are good enough for them and would never admit that it made them sweat and/or sore! 🙂

I’m praying someone wants to buy me a Vitamix! A purebred puppy wouldn’t be bad either!

Where do you get the xanthan gum, that you use for thickening? Is it at a normal grocery store?? If so, which section would it be in? Thanks! 🙂

I grew up jammin out to la bouche, too (I have older siblings and cousins)! Everytime my friends mentioned “sweet dreams,” I automatically lit up, thinking “how awesome! they like la bouche!”…but once I opened my mouth to sing it, they all gave me that “what the heck look.” :(man, body pump must fly by with that track!

Also! I would totally credit you for my smoothie addiction! I couldn’t afford a vitamix, but I got a magic bullet, and I AM IN LOVE! It doesn’t work as well as vitamix, but it’ll suffice for the time being.. I wear a smoothie smile everyday! 🙂

I’ve been loving smoothies too! Strawberry banana ones here. Although, if I use more than about 1/2 scoop of protein powder, the smoothie tastes kind of chalky. Do you think this is just because of the brand of protein powder? What kind of protein do you use?
