The Picture from the Story

October 22, 2010 by Julie 41 Comments

Let’s start the day with some wedding fun!

Since Holly’s comment on my “Things to Remember on My Wedding Day” post clearly moved you guys just as much as it moved me, I just had to reach out to her and ask her for the picture from her wedding day of the incredibly romantic moment she described.

For those of you who may need a refresher, here was Holly’s wonderful wedding memory:

“I just got married three months ago…My husband and I didn’t want to see each other before the wedding, but there was a picture that I wanted. It was us standing on either side of the door to the “bridal suite,” unable to see each other, but holding hands through a small crack in the door. The photographer was able to capture pictures of both of our faces, and then our hands together. It was at this moment that I became so excited and realized how much I missed him and couldn’t wait to see him at the end of the aisle about thirty minutes from that point. My voice was shaky when I responded to him saying “Hey, babe” which is what he always says, and I became all teary. I will remember that moment as long as I live.”

And now for the adorable pictures…

Holding Hands (Photo Courtsey of f8 Photo Studios)

Excited Holly (Photo Courtsey of f8 Photo Studios)

I love the last picture. Holly looks absolutely stunning and so excited and in love. What a perfect wedding memory.

Thank you for sharing your story and your beautiful pictures, Holly!

Breakfast

Now on to slightly less exciting things… but still pretty exciting if you’re a food love-ah like me…

Breakfast!

My morning meal was a hot one.

Hot Oats

I made myself a hot bowl of oatmeal and stirred in a scoop of All the Whey cupcake batter protein powder before topping the mix with frozen banana slices for added creaminess.

Spoonful of Naner Oats

I also sipped on a hot tumbler full of pumpkin spice coffee that I snagged from my gym.

Pumpkin Spice, What, What!?

It tastes like fall!

Is anyone else out there unbelievable stoked that it’s Friday? Woop! 😀

I’m excited about my lunchtime post today. It’s survey-style which I simply adore.

Enjoy your mornin’!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Cupcake batter protein powder? I need to look into purchasing that! I’m addicted to all things cupcake!

I live in Florida too and I’m in shorts and a light sweater while everyone around my college campus is bundled up in jackets and jeans! It’s in the 60’s, not 20’s! 🙂

I love the hot oatmeal, pumpkin spice coffee but shorts and a sleeveless top. I can’t imagine still being able to wear that stuff! Do you like living in the hot weather or would you prefer it to be a bit chillier?

I can’t believe you’re wearing shorts at the end of October! Please send some warm weather my way! I love the wedding photo – such an adorable moment. My favorite wedding story goes to Kevin Costner. He rowed his bride out to the middle of a lake in between the ceremony and reception just to have a few moments alone together on their big day.

The hand-holding picture is beautiful — and so symbolic for marriage: 2 people with their own lives (2 rooms) knowing still little of each other (they can’t really see each other), yet promising each other with love to hold on to each other (holding hands) and go on the journey together. No wonder Holly remembers this moment so vividly!

and umm miss PBF yourself – oh how I am jealous of the fact that you are wearing shorts today while I drove into work this morning with a coat and scarf on while blasting the heat in my car because it was only 2 degrees! (35.2F) There was even snow this morning just north of us! Can I move to Florida please??? 😉

What beautiful pictures! Holly’s face is truly priceless, and it makes me hope that all folks are THAT excited, happy, and thrilled on their wedding day!

I’m about to switch back to oatmeal for breakfasts because it’s getting freezing around here, but I’m a little nervous about staying full all morning. Do you find that oatmeal with banana and a scoop of protein powder does the trick for you? I don’t like to go crazy with toppings, but I do want my oatmeal to pack a punch. Any other tips? Thanks!

I am a newly wed and saw this story holding handsq between the door. My hubby and I wanted to capture the “first look” so our photographer suggested coming up behind him and tapping his shoulder. We then displayed the process at our wedding! We loved it!
