Vacation Nation

July 2, 2012 by Julie 69 Comments

If the amount of people at the gym this morning is any indication of how many people are off on vacation this week, I’m pretty sure a grand total of five of you will be reading PBF this week.

love you best

To those of you who aren’t anywhere cool at the moment, I’m glad you’re here!

Sadie said she’ll try to look extra cute for you this week.

not a good start

It’s Monday. She’s needs a little practice. Weekends make her rusty.

Workout

This morning’s workout was decent. Nothing fantastic, but nothing horrific either, so I’ll take it!

I began my time at the gym with 20 minutes on the elliptical while reading Ocala Magazine before meandering into the weight room to do a leg workout that included the following exercises:

  • Step Ups
  • Squats
  • Deadlifts
  • Lunges
  • Hamstring Ball Curls
  • Bridges

Breakfast

Breakfast was calling to me as I quickly showered after the gym. Thankfully it came together quickly since I prepped it last night.

overnight oats with nuts

I topped a batch of overnight oats with a handful of almonds and cashews.

overnight oats with mixed nuts

I’ll be reading this week!! And always look forward to Sadie-filled posts! Those nuts look so good on top of oats too– I always have to add a little crunch… I sometimes even add granola.

I’m always happy to see when you do 20-30 min cardio sessions because often I find myself cutting out then & you’ve been justifying my work outs, so thanks for that! Have a good holiday week/weekend!

I’m no where cool; love the Sadie pics. Her quotes make me laugh! Is it sad that I probably would still read even if we were somewhere cool!?

I am only off on Wednesday. Boo! At least I get a good parking space at work this week since pretty much everyone else is off.

I’m going to start a challenge this week! There’s a website that has 6 week programs to get you to 100 push ups. It also has 6 week programs for pull-ups, sit-ups, squats, and tricep dips. It’s a full body workout if you do them all, so that’s my plan. Though you might be interested.

Sadie has such character! On your workouts what incline/speed do you do and reps/set/weights?

I think the picture of Sadie is pretty darn cute – if thats a practice picture she’s well on her way 🙂
I’m no where cool for the 4th just yet! But I’m looking forward to the festivities – we typically have the 4th at our beach house in WA, this year we’re staying in Utah and will be enjoying the small town activities – mutton bustin included!

Oh boy! That awkward gym move post made me laugh! Just the other night I watch the Jim Gaffigan Mr. Universe stand-up special. You HAVE to watch it. He does a whole segment on working out at the gym and he includes the hip abductor machine in the jokes. Had me in tears laughing so hard!
