A Splash of Eggnog

December 3, 2013 by Julie 73 Comments

Good morning party people!

How is your Tuesday going so far? Things are shaping up quite nicely over here!

Ryan and I woke up early to sneak in our workout before the madness of the day sets in. I did a workout that was very similar to the Hot Holidays Workout I completed last week, but I omitted the push ups because I just wasn’t feeling them this morning.

And now, as I sit here blogging, all I can think about is foam rolling. That needs to happen at some point today.

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was an egg white and oatmeal protein pancake topped with a sliced banana.

I also had a hot mug of coffee on the side but instead of adding my usual almond milk to my cup, I added a splash of eggnog for some festive flare!

Judging by the fact that my coffee was almost gone by the time I snapped a photo, I think you can safely assume I liked it.

Now it’s off to work!

Question of the Morning

  • What do you usually add to your coffee or tea (if anything)? Any new “must try” additions?

I’ve had eggnog in coffee before and it’s delicious. 🙂 Usually I do stevia in my morning coffee. You can get so many delicious flavors so I am enjoying a cappucino Keurig flavor and adding the peppermine stevia to that – tastes like a peppermint mocha.

I typically drink my coffee and tea plain but I love the idea of throwing something festive in like eggnog 🙂 Happy Tuesday!

Adding eggnog to coffee does sound yummy! For me, I absolutely LOVE adding sugar-free vanilla syrup to my coffee! The brand Torani and Da Vinci are my favorites to use. They make each mug of coffee taste like dessert!

I would try it at least once! It is a bit sketchy, lol and it is aromatic (if you can say that about peanut butter, haha!). The peanut butter cup coffee didn’t pack enough PB punch, so I add the dollop and it kicks it up a notch for sure.

I would never have thought to add in eggnog! I’m usually a drink my coffee black kind of girl, but all those fancy coffees at starbucks that involve yummy cinnamon and other flavors are always tempting!

I am not much of a coffee drinker, so what I add to it usually ends up being the same amount of the coffee itself and then it hardly seems worth it 🙂

I make it simple with a little half & half. Sometimes I mix it up with just a little heavy whipping cream…mmmmm! I used to go crazy with all of the flavored creamers, but they’re almost too sweet for my liking these days. Every once in awhile, I’ll enjoy some if I’m feeling more of a dessert-y kind of coffee.

So my goal lately with coffee has been to omit almond milk/soy milk whatever so I have experimented with adding cinnamon, coco powder and nutmeg and the addition of all three makes up for the loss of milks. I am loving coco powder it makes for a delish coffee! Lots of Love your way xo C
