'Dillas on the Grillas

April 6, 2010 by Julie 16 Comments

The weather warranted another dinner on the grill. Well… kind of. Ryan and I were feelin’ cheesy quesadillas tonight and figured we could add some protein to the mix by throwing grilled chicken breasts into the ‘dillas. While Ryan grilled the chicken, I got all the “fixins” (as Paula Deen would say) ready for our quesadillas. Our…

A Winner is Crowned

April 6, 2010 by Julie 19 Comments

The epic battle came to a close today. In the cake vs. pie face-off, PIE took the cake. 😉 The competition, which took place on Jezebel.com, ended when cheesecake beat red velvet cake by receiving 59% of the votes. (Apparently cheesecake is a pie because of its crust.) I finished third in my work bracket…

Burgers and Battle #2

April 5, 2010 by Julie 8 Comments

The weather was in the 80s today! During our afternoon walk around the lake with Sadie, Ryan and I decided that the weather was perfect grillin’ weather and picked up some lean ground beef at the grocery store to throw on the grill for dinner. Ryan prepped our burgers while I sliced zucchini and sprinkled the veggies with garlic salt….

Post That Nutritional Info!

April 5, 2010 by Julie 22 Comments

Hooray for HoneyBaked Ham! Ryan’s mom sent us home with a large bag of leftover HoneyBaked Ham from yesterday’s big Easter lunch. Ryan enjoyed a big ham and cheese sandwich for dinner last night which inspired my lunch today. I wanted a ham sandwich! I enjoyed my sandwich with a side of roasted turnip fries…
