Birth Month

April 1, 2011 by Julie 94 Comments

Happy April, friends!

I love April because it’s my birth month! Though my birthday isn’t until April 27, the whole month just feels more fun. 😀

Of course March was pretty fun, too…

  • We went to the Florida Strawberry Festival
  • We bought a Vitamix!
  • We won the Wicked lottery
  • Our friends Dru and Carrie got married

Strawberry Shortcake

Yummy recipes from March included:

  • Peanut butter protein bars (Make these!)
  • Kale and sweet potato fritatta
  • Peanut butter cup smoothie
  • Oatmeal pancakes

Oatmeal Pancakes

And, last but not least, some sweaty workouts from the month of March:

  • 30 minute treadmill workout (Seriously intense!)
  • 25 minute incline walking/running workout
  • Express weights workout

Here’s to another fun month on PBF! And, as always, thanks so much for sharing this journey with me. 😀

Lunch

Lunch today was a special one since I got out of the office for a bit. Unfortunately the lunch was to celebrate one of my coworkers’ last day with the company (she accepted a position with another company) and I’ll be sad to see her go!

A small group of us headed to Dexter’s in Thornton Park for salads and sandwiches.

I ordered a veggie sandwich on whole wheat bread with lots of smoked gouda cheese and dijon mustard.

Veggie Sandwich

It was fantastic and I inhaled every last bite. Just what I needed to fuel me through the last few hours of work!

Back to the grind…

Question of the Afternoon

  • What is one thing you’re looking forward to this weekend?

I’m so happy that Ryan and I have no real commitments this weekend! We’re free as a bird and hope to use this time to possibly visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal tomorrow. I love going into the weekend with no real obligations on my plate.

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Wow lots of happenings in March! Can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for April.

I ran in my third marathon and shared in the joy of my older brother proposing to his beautiful fiance 🙂 I also FINALLY made good on my goal of starting a healthy living blog. Thank you for inspiring me – yours is the blog that got me hooked and I have definitely been spreading the word about ya!

As for this weekend, hopefully I can watch some of the runners in the Fitness/More Half Marathon here in NYC. Go Runners!

So jealous you might go to Harry Potter world! I was interning in Orlando when it was originally slated to open, but they pushed it back and I haven’t had a chance to go yet.

You should definitely put up some pictures if you two make it over there 🙂

Yayyyy for your birthday month!! I love december for that very reason, too (well, lots of reasons, but my birthday being in there makes it special, too!)

And I’m looking forward to RELAXING this weekend! I just did my longrun of 12 miles today, and I just learned that I got a 95% on the biostats test I turned in earlier this week… so I am very excited to just chill!

Tonight I’m going to a local gay bar with some of my friends. 80s music and no creepy guys hitting on us? Score! Tomorrow is my adorable niece’s 3rd birthday party.

April is my birth month, too!! And my husband and I accidentally went to HP world on its opening weekend on our honeymoon (we didn’t know that it was that weekend but we embraced it! I love HP!) …it was soooo crowded! We’re looking forward to going back someday when we can really enjoy it.

Weekends with no obligations are my FAVORITE. That’s this weekend for us…so we’re using it to pack!
