Brown –> Green Avocado

December 9, 2010 by Julie 15 Comments

I sliced into an avocado on Monday and haven’t touched the remaining green fruit since then.

Though the green flesh looked brown on the outside, once I sliced through the dinginess, the beautiful creamy green color returned.

Hello, Avocado

I used several avocado slices on an otherwise bland Swiss cheese bagelwich to add a little oomph and healthy fat to my lunch.

Lunch is Served

On the side I served up a sliced red pepper.

Put Some Pep in Your Step

Red peppers > green peppers… Too bad they’re more moo-lah!

Stay tuned for another wedding recap coming soon. I wonder how long I can drag these out… It’s so much fun to relive our wedding via blog posts! 😀

Seeing you post about a (partially) brown avocado made me think of the avocado-based chocoalte cake filling on Oh She Glows this morning. Delicious. And nobody would know about the brown.

    Keep those wedding recaps comin’!

P.S. Did you know red peppers have more nutrients in them than the green ones? Those extra dollas are worth it!

I LOVE that you’re dragging them out!! I think you can spend more time on all the special “moments” (ie: getting ready, bridesmaids) when you focus on one a day/post etc… I’m sure it’s more work, but I LOVE it!! p.s. Your lunch looks yummy!! I loooveee red peppers (just not the cost of them!) Have a great afternoon!!

I agree on the red peppers……WAY more delish, yet more $$….Oh well, some things are worth it, right? 😉

Red bell peppers are totally better than green, but I almost always buy green unless the price isn’t ridiculous.

i love all the fun peppers- yellow, red, orange. green is good but just not the same. yet, i can’t justify spending $2 for a pepper that i can eat in one sitting. 🙁 alas, i’ll get cheap peppers again in the summertime!
