Chili Cook Off + The Stomach Bug Strikes

November 18, 2019 by Julie 15 Comments

Hey friends. How are you doing? I’m currently blogging from bed and not feeling so great. I’m hoping the worst is behind me, as I spent all day Sunday throwing up and running back and forth from the bathroom. The stomach bug hit Ryan on Thursday and then took me out on Sunday and I’m…

Return to Jellystone Golden Valley

November 4, 2019 by Julie 22 Comments

Hi friends! Anyone else feeling the effects of the time change today? I remember when the “fall back” time change felt like a gift — an extra hour of sleep! — but those days went out the window when we had kids and now time changes rock my world. Let’s just say we had both…

Sea and Sky Air Show and a Weekend in Florida

October 28, 2019 by Julie 15 Comments

We are back in town after a whirlwind trip to Florida! We arrived home yesterday evening so I’m feeling a bit behind on life right now but hopefully after spending some time unpacking and tackling laundry today I’ll feel a sense of normalcy resume. A bit of a chaotic Monday is more than worth it…

A Peek Into The Weekend

October 21, 2019 by Julie 15 Comments

Hi friends! How are you doing? Another Monday is here and I’m left scratching my head at how the weekend passed by so fast. It was a good one over here and now we’re gearing up for Picture Day at Chase’s preschool this morning! Friday Friday took me and the boys to Patterson Farms again…

Alpha & Omega Corn Maze + A Rainy Sunday

October 14, 2019 by Julie 8 Comments

Our family’s fall fun continued this weekend with a trip to Alpha & Omega Corn Maze in Hamptonville, North Carolina. It took us just under an hour to get to the maze and the drive was well worth it! We typically stick closer to home for our corn maze fun in the fall because there is a…

Instagram post 2193655309847019162_40044681 Busted out of the house last night for a Las Vegas themed holiday party! 🎉 Name that movie! 🐯👶🏻 #tigerslovepepper #babycarlos
Instagram post 2191873802065169562_40044681 Slow Cooker Holiday Mulled Wine: The simple, low-maintenance, crowd-pleasing holiday beverage you've been looking for to make for your next holiday party! 🍷✨ This is my go-to recipe because it's warm and comforting and just sweet and cinnamon-y enough to feel like a festive holiday drink. ⠀
⠀
Here are the steps:⠀
⠀
Throw everything into a slow cooker⠀
Allow mulled wine to warm up on “low” for an hour⠀
Reduce to “warm” and top with a sprinkle of thinly-sliced oranges and cranberries⠀
Walk away and enjoy your party⠀
⠀
And the ingredient list is simple, too! Find the full recipe on the blog here: https://www.pbfingers.com/slow-cooker-holiday-mulled-wine/⠀
⠀
Oh and please do not feel the need to splurge on an expensive red wine for this recipe! I once had a sommelier friend of mine tell me that when it comes to making mulled wine, simply choose a red wine you like to drink. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy but it simply has to appeal to you without all of the added ingredients that morph it into a deliciously sweet holiday favorite. For this batch, I made the Slow Cooker Holiday Mulled Wine with a $6.99 bottle of Wellsley Farms’ Cabernet Sauvignon from @bjswholesale. Once you pour it into the slow cooker and fancy it up with thinly-sliced oranges 🍊 and pops of cranberry, no one will know you used a bottle of wine that cost less than $7 in the recipe anyway! Enjoy!!! #ad #mulledwine #holidaydrinks #holidayrecipes #slowcooker

Instagram post 2188654049733389965_40044681 I know you don’t get to choose your family but if you did, I’d choose this bunch over and over again. 💚 Another great family mountain vacation in the books! 🍁🍂
