Funky Chicken

January 12, 2010 by Julie 11 Comments

Who doesn’t love the funky chicken dance?

Funky Chicken

What’s your favorite choreographed dance song?

If you say the Macarena, don’t worry. I’ll still love you.

My favorite is definitely the Cupid Shuffle!

(Aaaand now I’m officially dancing in my chair…)

A note to my friends and family who will be attending our wedding in October: You may expect to hear every corny, cheesy dance song in the book at the reception. I have no shame.

BBQ Funky Chicken Salad

I decided to add a little extra funk into my chicken salad for lunch today… the addition of BBQ sauce!

BBQ Chicken Salad

I’ve made BBQ chicken salad one time before, but changed it up a bit this go-around by adding sweet corn and celery to the mix.

My chicken salad included:

  • 1 small can of chicken
  • 1 tbsp. light Miracle Whip
  • 1 tbsp. BBQ sauce
  • Sweet corn
  • Celery

I stuffed my BBQ funky chicken salad into a whole wheat pita pocket and enjoyed it with fresh carrot sticks on the side.

Tasty lunch indeed.

Back to dancin’ work…

I told the DJ at our wedding that he would get fired if he played any corny group dance songs.

    He didn’t.

I explicitly told the DJ for my wedding, NO ELECTRIC SLIDE! It’s just way too cheesy. Instead we rocked out to all the 80’s classics for the entire night. Our entrance song was G n R “Welcome to the Jungle” 🙂

I’m with you! I love the goofy dances and would love your wedding reception. I was bummed that my reception wasn’t too exciting with the dancing. Peter’s family is way too boring! LOL

That looks so yummy!! I’m not a big fan of choreographed dances, but I do enjoy the electric slide on occassion. I admit it. 🙂

Hahaha we had almost the same lunch! I’m definitely going to try adding BBQ sauce into my next tuna or chicken salad!

    JB – 2 things!

    1) So pumped about the choreographed dance songs commentary – personally they make me feel like a phenomenal dancer (I think we both know we don’t need choreographed dance songs to be awesome, considering our Ptown Park district dance talent…but if I had to choose my top 3 it’d be Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, and Electric Slide)

    2) that chocolate mousse JELL-O looks fantastic – on my way to buy it now!

Your chicken salad lunch looks delish! What kind of canned chicken do you use? I might have to give it a try!

And I must admit…I was dancing in my seat also when I played the cupid shuffle video! heh
