Guilty Pleasure TV

July 29, 2014 by Julie 81 Comments

Let’s talk about The Bachelorette. Wait, scrap that. Let’s talk about After the Final Rose because I’m pretty sure that even Chris Harrison, with his guarantee that every episode of The Bachelorette will be “the most dramatic episode ever,” could not have seen that coming!

Jaw Drop

I won’t spoil anything for those of you who may have DVRed it, but you can basically skip the real episode and fast forward to when the guy Andi didn’t choose confronts her on the live episode. He airs some pretty personal dirty laundry and causes Andi to say, “That was below the belt,” which I think may have been one of the best unintentional puns ever.

I’m pretty sure this is the only time in Bachelor/Bachelorette history I didn’t regret watching for three hours. Thanks goodness for group texts with girlfriends to keep me entertained!

And just in case you are wondering whether or not I am planning to watch Bachelor in Paradise the answer is probably. And by probably I mean definitely. It’s a guilty pleasure I just can’t shake.

Workout + Breakfast

My workout this morning took me to Pure Barre for the 6 a.m. class. You’re shocked, I know.

It was a good one and my thighs were burning and shaking as always.

After Pure Barre, I made my way home and assembled breakfast which began with a perfectly juicy orange.

fresh orange

Plus a smoothie made with frozen strawberries, Greek yogurt, fresh spinach, frozen banana and almond butter.

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Question of the Morning

  • What is your “guilty pleasure” television show?

My guilty pleasure shows are definitely The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Last year I got into Desperate Housewives (thank you, Netflix) and think I physically felt my brain rotting as I watched.

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I could NOT believe when he (no spoiler) said that on TV!!! If I was Andi, I would’ve stood up and left the show.

Also, they made it very obvious that Chris is going to be the next Bachelor but I was pulling for Arie.

Every season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette I tell myself I won’t watch the next one…and then that time rolls around and I do! It really is addicting…sometimes during an episode I’ll ask myself “why am I watching this?!” But then next week I come back for more! The epitome of a guilty pleasure. Group texts while watching really do make for the full experience though :p

I’m not a Bachelor/Bachelorette person, but almost everyone I work with is! My guilty pleasure is watching Friends, even though I’ve seen every episode probably 5-10 times. When it’s on, I just am physically incapable of changing the channel or of doing anything else.

I used to be a huge bachelor/bachelorette fan, but now I’ve migrated to extreme makeover: weightloss and master chef. The combo of the sad story + jaw dropping transformation has gotten me hooked. And master chef is just fun! The dishes they prep are so impressive — and all without recipies!! I can only dream of creating something that impressive.

I almost died when that conversation happened!! I had to pause it so that I could freak out about what was said, hahahaha. My husband gave me an eye roll because of how dramatic I was about it, hahahaha. I hope the guy she didn’t choose can move on, he should have known signing up for the show the possibility of this happening. Although I will say, she did say some things to him on their last date that made me think he was the one, I was also a little mislead!

I think I’m going to start either 90210 or Smallville… I know they’re already over but it’s nice to be able to catch up on all of something and not have to wait ages for one more episode! I have several guilty pleasure TV shows–the Bachelor/Bachelorette is definitely one of them, and Bachelor in Paradise is about to be next! I always watch it the next day when I’m on the treadmill or something, so this was the first live episode I’ve watched…and I’m SO glad I did. I could not believe [the guy she didn’t pick] said that. I guess she’s regretting not speaking to him privately prior to the show now. And I’m all for Marcus as the next Bachelor. He is ADORABLE.

Haha definitely a good pun! And yes, I also agree that sometimes I can feel my brain physically rotting as I watch certain shows…Kardashians, OC Housewives, Ladies of London, Etc….that’s why I decided to put my cable on hold for the month of August and see how productive I can be without it. It’s a test period to determine if I should cancel cable all together. With football starting next month, not sure I can! But one day I just thought…”wow, I spend more time watching other people live their lives than I go out and live mine.”

I didn’t care for either of the final 2 (team Chris!) but that proposal and their actions after the proposal were just so fake and forced! I give them 6 months.

I’m a sucker for America’s Next Top Model. Though the past few seasons it’s been more about “Let’s see how Tyra Banks can make this about herself.”
I also think Devious Maids is highly entertaining. I’ll watch anything with Judy Reyes (she played Carla on Scrubs).

I’ve never watched either The Bachelor or Bachelorette (I’m not a huge fan of reality TV, unless there’s dancing or clothes involved). But I’ve been trying to finish “Private Practice” on Netflix, and this show is such a flipping train wreck. These people cannot function in life. They’re way too self-involved. It’s ridiculous. Thankfully, I’m almost done (I have to finish shows I start. it’s kind of annoying).

My guilty pleasure TV is definitely Gossip Girl reruns…I’ll put them on while I’m working out to distract myself from the fact that I’m sweating and in pain, and I can focus on Chuck Bass’ ridiculous fashion sense instead. 😉
