Guilty Pleasure TV

July 29, 2014 by Julie 81 Comments

Let’s talk about The Bachelorette. Wait, scrap that. Let’s talk about After the Final Rose because I’m pretty sure that even Chris Harrison, with his guarantee that every episode of The Bachelorette will be “the most dramatic episode ever,” could not have seen that coming!

Jaw Drop

I won’t spoil anything for those of you who may have DVRed it, but you can basically skip the real episode and fast forward to when the guy Andi didn’t choose confronts her on the live episode. He airs some pretty personal dirty laundry and causes Andi to say, “That was below the belt,” which I think may have been one of the best unintentional puns ever.

I’m pretty sure this is the only time in Bachelor/Bachelorette history I didn’t regret watching for three hours. Thanks goodness for group texts with girlfriends to keep me entertained!

And just in case you are wondering whether or not I am planning to watch Bachelor in Paradise the answer is probably. And by probably I mean definitely. It’s a guilty pleasure I just can’t shake.

Workout + Breakfast

My workout this morning took me to Pure Barre for the 6 a.m. class. You’re shocked, I know.

It was a good one and my thighs were burning and shaking as always.

After Pure Barre, I made my way home and assembled breakfast which began with a perfectly juicy orange.

fresh orange

Plus a smoothie made with frozen strawberries, Greek yogurt, fresh spinach, frozen banana and almond butter.

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Question of the Morning

  • What is your “guilty pleasure” television show?

My guilty pleasure shows are definitely The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Last year I got into Desperate Housewives (thank you, Netflix) and think I physically felt my brain rotting as I watched.

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Group texts with girlfriends + a fabulously entertaining “After the Final Rose” made for a great night. 🙂 When I look back through my texts from last night with three groups of friends, it’s very obvious that I unintentionally can’t be best friends with someone if they don’t watch The Bachelor. Haha!

I was shocked that she chose who she did. My prediction accuracy for that show is usually 100% but not after last night. I was tricked, damn it!
I can understand why he felt so mislead. She really did give him all of the signs. But still, my mouth dropped to the floor when he made the below the belt comment. I’m sure her fiance isn’t too happy about that one.

And what’s up with them holding out on who the next Bachelor is? Was that some round about way of telling us it will be Chris? I’m confused.

I am so sad that I don’t have cable anymore. My sister-in-law and I used to religiously watch the Bachelor and Bacchelorette as a way to stay connected while we lived in different states. I miss that now, but I have found some great new shows on Netflix. Parenthood is my guilty pleasure show right now!

haha! I used to LOOOOOVE desperate housewives. I stopped watching near the end, though- the story line just kept getting crazier and crazier. My current favorite show is Catfish- my bf and I watched religiously every week! I’m bummed that it’s over now… gotta find something new to replace it with! haha

That’s exactly what I told my sister about how I felt like I didn’t waste three hours to hear what Nick had to say! That was hilarious! Live TV for ya! Also, random question: how long does it normally take for you to receive RueLaLa purchases? Thanks!

Bachelorette is most def. my guilty pleasure show. I much prefer Bachelorette to Bachelor and I enjoyed Andi’s season, though I didn’t really love any of the guys. As for the After the Final Rose – I mean, I didn’t think it was THAT bad what he said, but rather, that he said it on live television – I think everyone assumed they had slept together, but he didn’t need to say it out loud. I think she ended up with who she had the most chemistry with, that’s for sure. I think I enjoy the mindlessness of this show 🙂

My boyfriend (poor guy watches it with me, but actually really likes it) and I rewinded that part with Nick like 3 times because we couldn’t tell what he said. We were both like “wait, what?!” and he truly is such a mumbler that it was hard to tell. Dang Andi!! haha

I am right there with you. The Bachelorette/Bachelor glues me to the TV every time. What’s sad is that not only do I know that I am losing brain cells watching the show, but I actually feel giddy during the proposal lol! I don’t know why I get so excited about it.

Real Houswives of New York = Guilty. Real Housewives of New Jersey = Guilty. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills = Guilty. Real Housewives of Orange County = Guilty. Kardashians = Guilty. Saved by the Bell = Guilty.

If loving these shows are wrong, then baby, I don’t wanna be right!

    Real housewives.
I watched the bachelorette yesterday for the first time because my friends were. I just don’t like the fact that one girl/guy is being shared with multiple people, it would break my heart! Love the drama tho!

I felt so bad for Nick!!!! It was 100% awkward but honestly, the way they edited the show together I really thought she was going to pick him. He must have been devastated. And I guarantee that his little ‘below the belt’ comment during the after show was because he was confused and hurt.

Well, either that or the producers put him up to it. 😉

Can’t wait for Bachelor in Paradise. Let me know if you want to do any blogging link-ups to discuss!

My guilty pleasure tv show was Siberia. It was only on for one season last summer. It was a scripted show that was supposed to look like reality tv. It was terrible, but I loved it. I’m hoping it’ll be revived at some point!

The Bachelor franchise is easily my guilty pleasure TV – I don’t even like telling people I watch it! And while I’m watching it I realize how silly it is, and yet I still love it. I really love all the live tweeting of episodes, it makes it so much more entertaining. I also did not regret staying up the whole time for this one – especially when grumpy cat came out! Best ending ever.
