Impromptu Siesta Key Bar Crawl

November 24, 2012 by Julie 38 Comments

I was in total family mode yesterday and didn’t whip out my camera until after the sun went down. We spent the day with family, enjoyed a great breakfast out with Ryan’s grandparents and hung out in the backyard for hours. It was wonderful!

A little before 6 p.m., our good friends Terry and Daniel (they were both groomsmen in our wedding), drove over to my mother-in-law’s house to meet up with me, Ryan, my sister and her boyfriend. Our little gang had plans to head to Siesta Key for happy hour… a happy hour that eventually morphed into an impromptu Siesta Key Bar Crawl.

Our first stop of the night took us to S.K.O.B.

SKOB Siesta Key

There were dollar bills plastered all over the walls of S.K.O.B. which was pretty neat!

Daiquiri Deck was our second stop of the evening.

Daiquiri Deck Sarasota

The back wall of Daiquiri Deck is lined with different flavors of daiquiris and you can order tons of different flavor combinations. Our group ordered two rounds of the Deck Diesel which was an orange and vodka based daiquiri.

Leslie and Ross

Ryan and Terry

Those drinks go down a little too easily. Winking smile

We had so much fun with our friends and were so glad they were visiting their families in Sarasota for the Thanksgiving holiday so we could spend some time together.

Daniel and Julie

Daniel is Ryan’s cousin and was one of the best men in our wedding.  (Ryan had two best men.) Ryan and Daniel roomed together throughout college, so Daniel and I became really close as well.

Ryan Daniel and Julie

He’s one of the most hysterical people I’ve ever met and my abs hurt from laughing so hard throughout the night.

Our third and final stop of the evening took us to the Beach Club bar where we ordered more drinks and had a blast dancing to live music from Noise Ordinance.

Siesta Key Beach Club

Dancing at Beach Club in Siesta Key

The band was really good and played an awesome variety of music including some original songs as well as songs by Rusted Root, Counting Crows, The Killers and more. (Whenever I hear “Send Me On My Way” I think of the movie Matilda! Ryan says he thinks of Ice Age. We are so cool.) My sister and I sang our hearts out!

Just like the last time I hit the dance floor, the camera couldn’t keep up with my moves.

Julie Dancing

This is a very, very good thing. Smile

Now my mind is on one thing: Breakfast! Time to eat!

What a fun night out with friends!!! Sometime those unplanned nights turn into the best ones. By the way- so envious that your still able to hang out outdoors in November, I need to move to the south!

I wish my friends had as much fun as this looks! Also love your clothes, always. Can I just have your entire closet?! Dancing is my favorite way to spend the night, hands down. Not that I’m good at it, but I just have fun doing it. Glad you had fun!

I don’t know how those daquiri bars manage to make those super strong drinks taste like they have zero alcohol in them, but it is a dangerous (and fun) thing!;)

I think of Matilda when I hear that song too! I always loved the scene at the end where she and Miss Honey push furniture aside and skate on the carpet. It looked so fun 🙂

I know this is random but I noticed you always have a nice tan glow? Do you spray tan or are you just naturally tan?
