It Fits!

October 20, 2010 by Julie 40 Comments

Last night I let out a serious sigh of relief.

I met my mom at the bridal boutique where I bought my wedding dress to try it on for the final fitting after work yesterday.

As I unzipped the garment bag, I held my breath and hoped for the best. The seamstress had a lot of work to do since my last fitting. She had to remove a lot of fabric to make the dress fit me and I wasn’t sure what to expect.

My mom zipped me into the dress and I felt an instant wave of relief pass through my body.

It fits!!! Halle-sweet-lujah! 😀

I hugged the seamstress and told her she was an angel. I felt like I finally put on my dress!

The seamstress was also able to add another inch of lace to the bottom of the dress so I will be able to wear my beloved wedding shoes.

The Bottom of My Dress

I’m sorry for the vague pictures, but my groom-to-be reads the blog, so no full dress pictures until the big day (in 10 days!!!).

The Fresh Market & Game Night

After my dress fitting, I headed over to The Fresh Market to pick up a few goodies.

The Fresh Market

As always, the bakery section caught my eye and I nabbed a chocolate chip cookie to enjoy on my drive home.

Cookie Time

I stopped by our apartment  to eat a quick dinner of leftover sweet potato meatloaf and pick up Ryan to head to my friend Laurel’s for game night.

Laurel and my friend Kaitlyn had an awesome spread of goodies waiting for us to enjoy when we arrived.

Halloween Cookies

Apples + Caramel

I brought pumpkin spice cookies dusted in powdered sugar to share.

Pumpkin Spice Cookies

I was a bad blogger and forgot to snap a picture of our group, so here is one of three of the game night attendees from our last game night!

Game Night Girls

Our gang had a great time playing Partini. We learned that trying to guess the name of a song that someone is humming is nearly impossible.

Please humor me and try humming “Intergalactic” by the Beastie Boys. Not so easy!

Workout

Ryan and I both slept like a rock last night (maybe because we kicked Sadie out of the bed?), and woke up ready for a good workout.

I took my usual Wednesday BodyPump class and loved every minute. The new release rocks!

After the Pump, I did 15 minutes on the stairmaster before taking Sadie on a one-mile walk with Ryan.

"Walk Me, Humans!"

Breakfast

Breakfast today included one of the goodies I picked up from The Fresh Market last night.

Justin's Maple Almond Butter

Justin’s maple almond butter!

I spread the maple almond butter on a Whitewheat hot dog bun and added pear slices to round out my breakfast sandwich.

Almond Butter and Pear Hot Dog

Mmm, Almond Butter

Don't Forget the Fruit!

Winning combination.

Now it’s time to do that normal Wednesday thang… work. Hope your day is off to a wonderful start!

Game night sounds like such a fun tradition. I want to try to start that up with my friends. But Keith says I am not fun to play games with because I am too competitive. Who me? Never! 😉

Congratulations on the dress fitting–that must be SUCH a relief for you! I love the idea of the pear/nut butter sandwich. I love that it’s pear season, and I am really loving those Justin’s packets. The honey peanut butter is my go-to before races and long runs. I just wish it wasn’t so hard to get all of the nut buttery goodness out of the packet! Happy Wednesday! 🙂

Hurray for the dress fitting! I remember when I went for my final fitting and I was super nervous it wouldn’t be perfect, but it was. I love the lace at the bottom, and I’m sure your dress is stunning!

Sorry, nothing goes in a hot dog bun except for a hot dog or brat…my mom used to eat buttered hot dog buns as a snack and ever since then I can’t stand the thought of eating them without a hot dog!
