La Bouche Lover

July 6, 2011 by Julie 91 Comments

Guess who was too sore from Monday’s BodyPump class to do his typical Wednesday legs workout at the gym?

Heavy-lifer he-man Ryan! He said his quads were too sore from his first BodyPump experience to do his regular workout today. Apparently all those squats and lunges in BodyPump can even take out the big boys!

MY workout today began with 20 minutes of cardio on the elliptical before I headed into BodyPump to get my ‘Pump on!

I am really enjoying the new release and have to stop myself from singing and dancing to the remix of “Tonight is the Night” that is played during the back track. I was seriously obsessed with La Bouche when I was younger, so anytime I hear a La Bouche song (even a remix version), I get pumped up!

                la bouche

My friend Michaela and I made up an awesome dance to La Bouche’s “Be My Lover” when we were younger and I assure you that it would put any dance you’ve ever seen on So You Think You Can Dance to shame. Our choreography included moves like the jazz square and grapevines. Oh yes. Michaela is actually a bridesmaid in the wedding I am in on Saturday as well, so maybe we’ll bust out our dance on the dance floor. I’ll be sure to have Ryan record it so I can never post it on the blog. Muhaha!

Breakfast

After the gym and a long walk with Sadie, my Vitamix was calling to me.

Bleeeeend something. I cost as much as a purebred puppy. Use me.

And use it I did!

I blended up a delicious extra chocolaty smoothie bowl and loved every last slurp.

I’m thinking we should start a PBF smoothie club. I love how many of you have become smoothie addicts this summer like me. We should make shirts or something.

And speaking of shirts, the PBF ones are still in the works! I promise to unveil the finalized design as soon as I have it for you guys!

I Feel for Ryan lol…the first time I did body pump I about fell down the stairs and was SO sore for that whole week!

I’m addicted to smoothies, it’s what I used to shed the post baby weight in addition to healthy snacks and dinners, and now just like you they are my healthy breakfast lunch or dinner lol!!!

Something about the name “La Bouche” just makes me giggle. Amen to being smoothie addicts! I have been talking Vitamix to the sig. other and informing him that tree trunks can be blended in these machines…I think he thinks I’m crazy. At least I am not wearing tommy hilfiger overalls today…haha!!

I’m so glad I don’t know what makes a Vitamix so great… I’m sure if I did I’d be tempted to spend money I don’t have on buying one 🙂

Hahaha, La Bouche, that is awesome. Be My Lover was my fave song by them! I still remember some of the stupid dances I made up when I was little as well…so funny.

BodyPump is hardcore! My gym is not doing the new release for another TWO weeks! I’m excited to try it.

And that’s a little funny about Ryan only because I remember taking my strong boyfriend who lifts weights 4x a week to a hot yoga class & that night he was so sore & the next day he couldn’t go to the gym. 😀 girls are tough too!

Lol my boyfriend hates BodyPump. The few times he did it with me, he just complained that the insane number of reps wasn’t what he was used to. He like heavy weights with lower reps. But hey, if that’s what he’s used to, I’m not going to argue 🙂

I’ve become a huge smoothie fan since the weather started getting warm. Bonus if the smoothie contains peanut butter. Except those are slurped down way too quickly.

I love that you had a dance choreographed with a friend. I had many dances like that when I was younger but my most embarrassing was probably to Chattahoochee by Alan Jackson.
