Laurel’s City Walk Bachelorette Party

April 14, 2013 by Julie 69 Comments

This weekend was all about celebrating the beautiful bride-to-be!

I left for Orlando immediately after my new-hire orientation on Friday and arrived at Laurel’s apartment just before dinner. We planned a low-key night in on Friday so we could all catch up, talk wedding talk and have fun together eating pizza in our pajamas. We planned to watch two of Laurel’s favorite wedding-themed movies, but ended up chatting away until after 1 a.m. instead. It was fabulous to have some much-needed girl time!

On Saturday, we spent the day hanging out at Laurel’s apartment before heading to a hotel on International Drive to get ready and decorate for the evening festivities.

Everyone arrived around 6 p.m. and we kicked off the night with a lingerie shower!

We had Laurel open each gift and guess who each piece of lingerie was from and it was fun to hear her reasoning.

While Laurel opened gifts, everyone sipped sangria and nibbled on snacks.

Our second game of the evening was the Question Book Game which was a blast! I emailed Laurel’s fiancé ahead of time and asked him a series of questions which Laurel then had to guess the answers to last night. She did really well!

After about an hour an a half at the hotel, we hopped on a party bus to Rocco’s Tacos for dinner and margaritas.

(Yes, we planned for everyone to wear black and for Laurel to wear a fun dress to stand out as the bachelorette!)

If you live in Orlando and are in the market for an inexpensive, no-frills, laidback party bus, I highly recommend Steve’s party bus. He doesn’t have a website, but you can email him at stevie1r@yahoo.com. He’s awesome!

Right after we were seated and ordered our drinks, my friend Leah and I shared guacamole and chips before it was time to order dinner. For my entree, I opted for the mushroom tacos and thought they were delicious!

After dinner, we hopped back on the party bus and headed to City Walk, a hotspot right outside of Universal Studios featuring a ton of different bars, clubs and restaurants. Right after we arrived, we made a beeline for Fat Tuesday’s daiquiri bar!

So good! And if you’re wondering what the paper rings around Laurel’s neck are all about, they were part of another fun game. Everyone wrote a different dare for Laurel to complete throughout the evening onto a paper ring that she could then tear off the necklace once she completed it. Lots of fun!

With our drinks in hand, we walked to Red Coconut, a club with live music, and danced the night away!

And got a lil’ tipsy.

Clearly.

We spent several hours at Red Coconut singing, drinking and dancing before heading to Pat O’Briens, a piano bar that features awesome music. They played lots of classic rock and older hits that I couldn’t help but sing along to while Laurel entertained us with some stellar interpretive dance moves. It was a blast!

Eventually it was time to call it a night and we walked back out to our party bus and headed back to the hotel where we dove into the chips, dip, cupcakes and popcorn that were waiting for us in the room.

It was such a fun night with a fabulous bride-to-be. Now we’re all counting down the days until she says “I do” next month!

Looks like so much fun!! I’m just getting to the point in my life where all my friends are starting to get engaged (which makes me feel like such a grownup, I’m not sure I’m ready for this). My best friend recently got engaged and it will be the first time that I’m responsible for planning a bachelorette party. I’m so excited, but a little nervous. I want the night to be perfect for her. Thank you for sharing so many great ideas!!! I’ll definitely be trying out a few when it comes time for her party.

I am currently planning a bachelorette party for my best friend! Love the idea for wearing all black! Do you by chance have a link to the questions you asked her fiance? I think that’s a great idea!

This sounds very similar to my bachelorette party a couple weeks ago!! The girls threw me a lingerie themed shower on the first night while we stayed in and played games, then we went out for a nice dinner on the Saturday, followed by dancing and more games at a place called Fat Tuesdays as well which turned into a dueling Piano bar, such a blast!!
