Mellow Yellow

February 24, 2011 by Julie 128 Comments

Last night I realized that it’s been just shy of one month since I took my last yoga class. (Remember? The one where my mind was racing? Fun!)

I went to sleep promising my body that I would stretch it out in the morning and kept my word by heading to a 6 a.m. yoga class this morning.

The class was slower paced than usual, which I actually welcomed. I honestly went to the class in the mood for only one pose… my all-time favorite pigeon pose. I tell ya what, nothin’ stretches out my hips like the pigeon pose. It’s fantastic!

After yoga, I completed 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical before heading home to take Sadie on a one-mile walk.

"Walk Me, Lady!"

Mellow Yellow Walk

It seemed like our entire walk was sprinkled with yellow!

Bloomin'

They call me mellow yellow…

Purdy!

The above flowers grow on a trees and are my favorite! When they first begin to bloom, I can’t help but smile as I always think of Sadie when she was a puppy because she loved sniffing the fallen flowers.

Just look at my little love muffin!

Baby Sadie

On our walk, I also snagged a yellow grapefruit and an orange from two trees that were practically overflowing with citrus.

Grapefruit

Once we were done walking, it was time for some breakfast!

Before prepping my meal, I popped open the jar of vitamins only to find more yellow!

Yellow Gummies

Ryan and I share a jar of gummy vitamins and the large amount of yellow gummies on the top is proof that I’ve been treating these little babies like fruit snacks lately. I love the red, pink and orange flavors and leave the yellows for Ryan. (He actually likes them. Weird.)

Breakfast

After taking my vitamins, I placed a cinnamon raisin bagel thin in the toaster and  practically inhaled the orange that I picked up on morning walk. It eluded any pictures because I was too busy annihilating it, but here are some of the remains…

Obliterated

Git in mah belly!

I also took my favorite breakfast sandwich up a notch by including jelly in the mix this morning.

Breakfast

Watch out now!

Oh So Good

This combination (cinnamon raisin bagel thin + muenster cheese + raspberry jelly) created a party in my mouth!

Woo! Woo! Party Time!

(The above picture was clearly taken before I realized the deliciousness of the bagelwich. Apparently I was practicing my “this bagel tastes like scumbucket” face.)

Bagelwich, You've Outdone Yourself

I can assure you that this little creation will be poppin’ up on this blog a bazillion times in the future.

A Favor

I feel the need to preface this little favor I’m going to ask of you guys by saying that I seriously hate asking people for things. It makes me anxious and I feel totally awkward. This is likely the reason that I was a terrible girl scout and relied on my parents to buy all of my cookies from me. (Fortunately they did and we snacked on frozen Thin Mints year-round.)

Well, Women’s Health magazine is in the process of compiling a blog roll of readers’ favorite blogs and I cannot tell you how much it would mean to me to be included on this list.

Women's Health Blog Contest

I absolutely love blogging every day. It is my passion and blogging brings me so much joy and happiness because I get to interact with you guys. If you feel so inclined, I would be so grateful if you could take 30 seconds to nominate me for Women’s Health magazine’s blog roll.

I know my blog isn’t a mega-blog, but it means so much to me and I would be honored and humbled to be included on this list.

You may nominate PBF by clicking here.

Also, I truly believe the blogging community thrives off of the love and support of readers and bloggers and if you have a blog that you would like me to recommend, please let me know!

As always, thank you for your never-ending support. You guys ROCK!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

So your fruit picking reminded me of a lady who lived in my neighborhood. She had huge citrus trees and one summer apparently some one was picking them. She painted a ginormous wooden sign that said who has been picking my lemons? in very mean looking writing, so beware! You are adorable with your shyness to ask for votes! That being said I personally would never ask because I have about 5 readers, lol, I can only hope to have the following you do someday=)

I am so jealous of the yellow flowers! I live in NY and we are still looking at piles of (dirty) snow. Ugh.

I was, though, more than happy to nominate you for the blogroll. Julie, I love reading your blog because you enthusiasm just shines through!

I was happy to add my nomination to the many others! It’s rare for me to find a blog I enjoy reading every, single day so why be stingy & keep your blog all to myself? haha. Hopefully soon all WH readers can see the majesty of PBF.
