Mmmm, Mmmm Good

March 8, 2013 by Julie 192 Comments

Well, I now know why she calls it “Mmmm Sauce.”

Mmm Sauce

After reading rave reviews about Mama Pea’s Mmmm Sauce for more than a year now, I finally gave it a go this afternoon.

It was freakin’ awesome. Really, really awesome. (I actually forgot to add the lemon juice and still thought it was great!)

The base of the sauce is raw almonds, chickpeas and oil, but the nutritional yeast and spices (hooray for curry!) really take it to the next level. If you love curry and are in the market for a creamy sauce to put on basically anything savory, you must give it a whirl! (<—Pun intended since you make it in the food processor. Yes, I do reach really far for a punny joke!)

The sauce only calls for 1/4 cup of chickpeas, so after I opened a can and used what I needed for the sauce, I poured the remaining chickpeas into a bowl and topped them with a boatload of mmmm sauce for lunch.

I also had an English muffin on the side and topped one half with peanut butter and unsweetened shredded coconut and the other half with honey and coconut.

And now I’m getting ready to finish up for the day and head out to happy hour with some friends tonight!

Do the Friday dance!

P.S. I’m in the market for a quality, cute windbreaker for an upcoming trip but, as Michelle says, a cute windbreaker is a bit of an oxymoron. If you have any recommendations, please let me know! I’m on the lookout!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I have a Patagonia one that I can’t find on their website, which is probably because I got it on clearance at REI. Definitely suggest going to REI for their clearance section or Patagonia! I’m in college so walking to the opposite side of campus has never been a problem with their jackets. It also insulates really well!

Peanut butter & honey are 2 of my favorite things – and unsweetened shredded coconut just became a fav too. What a delicious combo. I think I’ll have that with my evening coffee!
And chickpeas are never ending in my house, so adding another recipe to the cabinet is extremely helpful!

Really?! Classy comment….not. I just don’t get the point of these stupid comments that I keep seeing more and more of on my favorite blogs. There’s nothing constructive, it’s just bitchy passive aggressive commentary that serves no purpose. If you don’t like the blog, DON’T READ IT. It’s not complicated. I’m fed up with all my favorite bloggers (who feel like friends on some level) censoring everything they write now because they’ve been broken down by the persistent negativity of trolls.

Also – this jacket has a mesh lining on the body, and the sleeves and hood are lined with a silkier material. The inside of the collar even has a soft, fleecy material so it won’t bother your face.
