Off to Denver

February 24, 2012 by Julie 61 Comments

Good morning!

It’s a good morning over here, indeed. I’m off to Denver, Colorado this afternoon to spend the weekend with two of my best girlfriends, Michaela and Leah, and I can’t wait!

We’ve been friends since elementary school (they were also bridesmaids in our wedding and we were bridesmaids in Leah’s wedding in July) and I am so, so excited to see them.

leah's wedding

Since I need to be out of the house before 10 a.m. and still have yet to pack, this morning is a go-go-go kind of morning!

Workout

Ryan and I began our day at the gym with 20 minutes on the elliptical before doing our own thang. I ended up completing an upper body workout that was nearly identical to this one.

And then it was time for breakfast!

Breakfast

I knew what I wanted for breakfast this morning since the minute I woke up!

Peanut butter and banana oatmeal, baby!

It doesn’t look like much, but boy does it taste good.

I prepared steel cut oats on the stove top and once they were done cooking, I added two spoonfuls of peanut butter and a chopped banana and let everything cook a bit more until the peanut butter and banana melted into the oats.

Sadie was more than happy to lick this bowl clean. She’s a peanut butter puppy!

peanut butter lover

I love that old picture of her.

She is so fixated on the spoonful of peanut butter. I can relate 100 percent. Smile

Off to pack! See ya from the airport!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

You’re coming to my neck of the woods!! If you ladies need a really coolo bar to go to I have one I think you’d appreciate! There’s a bar called the Green Russell. You need a res to get in. It’s themed like a 1920’s speak easy and they only use all natural ingredients in their drinks. The bartenders are masters and can handcraft custom drinks based on the customer’s tastes and liquor preference..it’s so fun!! Have fun in my hometown!!

I absolutely love that picture of Sadie. My dog was a major fan of PB. She would lick the spoon clean and then the roof of her mouth. Lastly, she’d lick her paw to rid her tounge of peanut butter residue. It was the cutest thing!

My hometown! I love it. If you are looking for a really fun place to eat… check out the cherry cricket. They have been featured on food network a couple times. Good burgers that are totally customizable. Or my favorite for its unique burgers is park burger on pearl street. The buffalo burger with Brie and a fried egg and caramelized onions is out of this world. If you need a suggestion for Foodie places 🙂
