PBF Gift Guide: For Her

December 19, 2017 by Julie 24 Comments

We’re just about a week out from Christmas and I truthfully didn’t think my His & Hers Gift Guides were going to make it up on the blog this year. I had ambitions to publish them early last week but the flu had other plans. Unfortunately the flu decided to linger this weekend and while I spent most of Saturday and Sunday on the couch and in bed, I worked on today’s Gift Guide For Her in bits and pieces.

Gift Guide for Her

I thought it might be too late to share, but “gift guide” is the number two search term on my blog at the moment and I’ve received more than a couple of requests to share a few more. I’m hoping to share my Gift Guide for Guys tomorrow and really hope these gift guides help those of you in need of some last-minute gift giving inspiration.

This gift guide covers a variety of price points (beginning at $5!) and I’m linking to as many Amazon Prime products as possible to help with shipping speed as well.

PBF Gift Guide: For Her

  • Gift Certificate to A Local Workshop or Skills Class

AR Workshop Davidson

My mom and I had so much fun when we visited my local AR Workshop to create personalized signs and boxes together and I cannot recommend this gift idea enough if you’re into experience-based gifts. My mom loved selecting a sign she could make herself and we had the best time spending nearly four hours together getting a little creative in the studio. If you don’t have an AR Workshop nearby, consider pottery making or various skills-based classes (I am dying to take a handwriting class) or even cooking classes. (Charlotte locals, check out Skillpop for more class ideas.)

  • Mini Backpack

Mini Backpacks

I use my mini backpack every single day, mostly because I need my hands and shoulders free when I’m running after a toddler. Whether you’re looking for a gift for a mom or simply a woman who leads an active lifestyle, I think a mini backpack is a great gift, especially now that mini backpacks are 10,000 times cuter than they were even just one year ago.

Some of my favorite backpacks: Marc Jacobs Mini Backpack (this is the one I have and love), Faux Leather Backpack, Madewell Leather Backpack, Kate Spade Velvet Backpack (gorgeous and splurge-worthy, though this velvet backpack is beautiful and more affordable), STATE Nylon Backpack (for an athletic look)

  • Salt Lamp

Salt Lamp

I first ordered my Pink Himalayan Salt Lamp after Chase was born when I was in the market for a calming light to use during middle-of-the-night nursing sessions. I didn’t expect to love this light as much as I did! The warm glow is calming and tranquil and the salt crystal lamp emits negative ions that fight against electromagnetic radiation. The naturally-ionized air is also thought to help you sleep better at night.

  • Coveted Beauty Items

Beauty Items

This is an easy one to personalize if you have an idea about what sort of beauty items your loved one needs or wants. Some of my personal favorite beauty finds that I’ve received as a gift in the past include Clarisonic Mia 2 (this completely changed my facial cleansing routine for the better), Artis Palm Makeup Brush (the BEST brush for applying foundation – it allows me to use less makeup with greater coverage) and the Beautycounter Winter Glow Body Duo.

If you’re looking for more affordable stocking-stuffer options, consider a new beauty blender, rollerball perfume, festive nail polish with a nail polish remover pen (<—I love this thing!), face masks, Bend soap (<—super clean ingredients) bath bombs and body butter.

  • Butcher Block

Butcher Block

A butcher block made it on my personal wish list this year after a blog reader left a comment recommending one to use to display cheese, nuts and fresh fruit when we host people in our home. I love the way a butchers block makes a cheese board look deconstructed but elegant. Though you can obviously find them online, I’ve seen a bunch of beautiful options at HomeGoods and Marshalls as well.

  • Barefoot Dreams Anything

barefoot dreams

I discovered this brand when my mom’s cousin sent me a cozy Barefoot Dreams cardigan as a gift earlier this year and I now completely understand the hype. Their fabrics are the softest around – smooth and almost buttery – and the cardigan I have is incredibly warm and cozy. Barefoot Dreams makes everything from comfortable pullovers and fuzzy socks to classic throw blankets and robes that look like a dream.

  • Marble Phone Case

Marble Phone Case

I love the look of a sleek and classy marble phone case and have one on my personal wish list this year. I spied a woman with a marble phone case at a local coffee shop a few months ago and it has been on my radar ever since.

Additional Gift Ideas

  • Gemstone Bar Necklace (so classy and gorgeous)
  • Diffuser (there are so many beautiful options these days)
  • Stitch Fix Gift Card
  • Slippers
  • Fuzzy Slipper Socks or New Athletic Socks (I LOVE Bombas)
  • Harry & David Pears (SO delicious and healthy! A go-to gift for my mother-in-law.)
  • Massage, Manicure or Pedicure Gift Certificate
  • Concert or Musical Tickets
  • Spa Gift Box
  • Tribal Key Fob

Nice guide! I like the concept of a mini backpack but have this fear that someone will pick pocket me from behind?

I have such trouble with Her gift guides because I always think, ‘Oh! I would love that!’ hehe. Luckily I have lots of lady friends who’d enjoy a velvet backpack (so cute!) and I think my mom would love to go to AR Workshop with me! Great ideas, Julie!

These are great ideas! I especially love the marble phone case! Which version is on your wish list – the classic grip or the snap-on? I can’t decide which one I like better. ?

After hearing you praise your salt lamp, I think it’s going to be the next home item that I want to add to my place. Going on my wishlist for sure! I mean that’s acceptable use of gift guides after I finish all my shopping….right?

I hope you’re feeling better Julie!

Be careful with the salt lamp! Look at reviews on amazon-It’s a fire hazard.

100% YES to the salt lamp. I got one on your recommendation when I had my little guy last year and it’s one of my favorite baby things! I always recommend it to new mamas now!

I love these ideas! We have a salt lamp in each room of our house. Slightly excessive but I love them!! This year we’re gifting these fun Bluetooth hats. They have speakers built right in so you can walk to class/dog/kids and listen to your favorite things!

I love all these suggestions! So many gift guides I’m seeing are kind unrealistic, but this one is super helpful!! Love how useful and affordable all the items are…. and I also LOVE my clarisonic!

One of my favorite gifts that I got was tickets to a Calgary Flames hockey game from my bother. They were for Valentine’s Day, so I took my boyfriend with me. I love gifts that have an experience attached to them.
