Poop Bag Purse

December 6, 2011 by Julie 86 Comments

After lunch today, I ended up taking my laptop to Starbucks to get some work done. I needed to get out of the house because I was having a hard time getting in the zone today and figured a change in scenery would serve me well.

With a Frappuccino in hand, I was much more productive!

And did you notice my new name? Apparently I’m “Sue” today.

I swear I said “Julie,” but this is the same Starbucks that spelled my name “Jewlie,” so I guess getting assigned a totally new name isn’t too far off base. Sue is also my mom’s name, so it made me smile!

Ryan even stopped by Starbucks around 1:30 on his lunch break to say hi, grab a drink and chat for a bit before heading back to work.

Christmas Shopping

Since I was still on his side of town when he got off work for the day, we decided to meet up and knock out some Christmas shopping.

We were quite successful and found some gifts for my mom, sister and mother-in-law.

While shopping we also picked up a poop bag purse for Sadie!

ravioli 005

Ever since we moved to Ocala from Orlando, we’ve really missed having free poop bag stations all over the city (Orlando was incredibly dog friendly) and figured having a little poop bag purse permanently affixed to Sadie’s leash would solve the problem of forgetting to grab a bag on the way out the door.

Plus, it’s awfully stylish, don’t you think?

During our shopping adventure, Ryan tried to convince me to buy gingerbread cookies in a tube, claiming it was the “coolest idea ever,” until I pointed out that it was a bottle of lotion and not cookie dough.

ravioli 003

(In his defense, it was on a bottom shelf where the “hand & body cream” text wasn’t easily seen.) I then had one bummed out husband on my hands. If any of you are looking for business ideas, cookie dough-in-a-tube apparently is a winner.

Dinner

Once we arrived home from shopping, it was dinnertime. We were both quite hungry and a quick meal was in order.

Ravioli with zucchini, spinach and mushrooms came together fast.

ravioli 009

Gotta love pasta poofs!

I swear the veggies are under there somewhere.

Time to wrap some Christmas presents!

P.S. Those are my J.Crew mistletoe pajamas that I got on Christmas Eve last year. (It’s a tradition in my family to get new pajamas on Christmas Eve… one I hope to continue one day!)  And yes, I most definitely wear them year-round.

Fun for the PJ’s! We have a tradition too. My mom, sister, sister-in-law and I all have matching Pj pants for Christmas morning. I love that I now have a collection of snowflake and reindeer pj pants from previous years!

I don’t know about gingerbread in a tube, BUT Trader Joe’s is selling jars of “cookie butter” which is the best thing I have ever tasted. Literally can’t stop eating it. You have to go buy some!!

That poop purse sure is stylish. I’m excited you found them! I still live in Orlando with all of the poop bags found almost everywhere…however my dog Roadie likes to poop the furthest possible away from each station. Those would come in handy for anyone! 🙂

I actually invested in a poop bag purse (for my poodle) over the summer and, I must say, it’s quite the lucrative investment. No more looking over my shoulder for a “bag station” every time we’re on a run. I can’t attest to the degree of dignity my male poodle’s pink-and-fuschia camo poop bag purse imparts to his masculinity, but I suppose that poodles are the metrosexuals of the dog world anyway, so what do you do . . .

My family has always opened presents on Christmas Eve and they’re always PJs. Even my mom and aunt continued getting PJs after they started having their own children. Now, three generations get PJs on Christmas Eve. It’s so great! I love my family, and our traditions. Especially when we read the Christmas Story out of Luke in the Bible.
