Shopping, SideBern’s & Hockey

October 30, 2011 by Julie 55 Comments

Hello and happy Sunday! I think we have some catchin’ up to do, so let’s back up to yesterday morning after breakfast.

At around 10 a.m., Ryan and I headed to Ellenton Premium Outlets, located about 40 minutes from my parents’ house to do some shopping.

anniversary 007

Back in September, I was selected to be part of Banana Republic Factory Store’s blogger panel and was provided with a gift card for $50 that I was very anxious to spend! If you ever take a peak at my Fashion page, you know I am a Banana Republic outlet store fiend and constantly take advantage of their amazing deals.

While browsing around the store yesterday, I nabbed three things:

  • An ivory tank with beautiful feminine lace detailing

anniversary 011

(I thought about buying that skirt, but in the end decided against it.)

  • A pair of dark purple straight-leg pants that I think will be great tucked into boots  in the winter…

anniversary 010

  • And an infinity scarf that I ended up wearing to a hockey game with Ryan that night!

anniversary 021

My total was over $50, so I shelled out some money, but everything was significantly cheaper than normal retail prices. Sweet! My favorite item was the infinity scarf and I see that baby getting a lot of use once the weather gets colder.

Lunch

After we were done shopping, we met up with Ryan’s mom and her boyfriend for lunch at Woody’s River Roo Pub & Grill. It was such a fun little place along the water and we enjoyed sitting outside since the weather was so nice.

I ordered a Greek salad and was pleased to see a plethora of feta cheese on top!

anniversary 014-1

We also enjoyed key lime pie for dessert after our waitress said it was homemade and delicious.

anniversary 016-1

It was so great to be able to spend a few hours with Ryan’s family while we were in the area!

After we said our goodbyes, we made a pit stop into Walgreen’s before heading home.

I seriously debated buying this little gem for Ryan as an anniversary gift…

anniversary 017-1

You know we love the Biebs! (I still love this picture of Ryan + cardboard Bieber.)

I decided against it when I saw that the toothbrush didn’t play “One Less Lonely Girl” or “Never Say Never,” my our favorite Bieber songs.

Eventually we made it back to St. Pete where we collected our belongings from my parents’ house (minus Sadie) and headed to the hotel where we got married to check in and kick off anniversary date night!

Date Night

Ryan made dinner reservations for us at SideBern’s, a fancy restaurant located in Tampa.

We did a lot of sharing at dinner and split a seared tuna appetizer to start after I downed what seemed like an entire loaf of freshly baked bread.

I wasn’t that hungry when it was time for dinner and ordered the scallops off the appetizer menu for myself and shared some of Ryan’s roasted elk loin.

anniversary 019

anniversary 020

Who knew elk was so delicious!? Both of our dishes were fantastic.

After dinner we had plans to attend a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game! I gave Ryan tickets to the game for his birthday at the beginning of the month and we were excited to finally get to go.

anniversary 022

I was honestly surprised how much I loved watching the game! Hockey is incredibly fast-paced and I was highly entertained. The Lightning ended up winning 1 – 0, so it was a great game to watch!

On our way back to the hotel, we had to make a pit stop for late-night dessert and hit up Yogurtology for frozen yogurt.

anniversary 023

In the cup: Pumpkin pie and oatmeal cookie fro yo, chocolate covered almonds, peanut M&Ms, chocolate covered waffle cone pieces and sprinkles. The oatmeal cookie frozen yogurt was definitely my favorite flavor of fro yo to date. It had bits of cookie in it which made a texture freak like me all too happy.

We ended date night back at the hotel where there were two weddings taking place. It was so neat to see two couples getting married as we were celebrating our anniversary. It brought back all the fun memories!

More anniversary fun continued today (on our actual anniversary), but this post is getting a bit long, so I’ll be back with today’s recap in a bit!

P.S. The Fashion page was updated today.

It’s crazy to see you in a dress right now because it’s so darn cold here. I’m jealous! I’m also crossing my fingers that the warm weather will still be there when I come to Florida for work next month.

So jealous you are wearing a dress without leggings and a big coat! It went from being in the 70s to in the upper 40s so fast. While I miss the warmer weather I enjoy the cooler temperatures because it reminds me I only have a month left till Christmas break! So excited to be done with another semester of college.

happy one year to you and ryan! Being a born floridian, growing up I was told that you can usually tell when key lime pie is homemade and used with real limes when the pie is not the typical light green color that we are use to seeing.

I love infinity scarves…I definitely need to get more for this year! I am dying to try the oatmeal frozen yogurt….I have heard other people rave about it, but the fro yo places in my area aren’t the greatest, so I doubt they will have that flavor. Bummer!

I’ve been reading for a while now but have never commented before…just wanted to say that the away team last night was from my town! The Winnipeg Jets are HUGE here right now…it’s been 15 years since we had an NHL team. Tickets for home games are very hard to come by (as soon as season tickets went on sale they basically sold out for the next 4 years)
    Happy Anniversary by the way!

Your weekend looks so fun!! I have that same target dress and I have a question about it- is yours at all tight on your chest? I always wear a small and didn’t try it on at the store, but it’s tight on my chest. I didn’t know if it was supposed to fit like that or if it’s just too small!
