Sleep In Walk

June 19, 2012 by Julie 88 Comments

This morning when the alarm went off, Ryan got out of bed and declared it “sleep in day” and we slept until 6:30 a.m. which felt glorious.

I am hoping to take a lunchtime group exercise class at the gym, so skipping our typical 5 a.m. workout and getting and extra 90 minutes of sleep sounded like a great idea.

Once we were up, we took Sadie on a 30-minute walk around the neighborhood.

casall 013

It was cool enough this morning for me to wear workout capris instead of shorts, so I threw on some of the new gear I received from Casall a few weeks ago.

casall 016

My top is the Level Rib Boxback tank in bird of paradise and the capris are the Essential Rapidry 3/4 Tights.

casall 010

I was able to pick out a top and bottom I wanted to try from Casall’s website and was very happy with my selection. I love the drifit material of the top and the extra length is perfect for someone with a really long torso like me. I struggle to find workout tops that are long enough and was relieved that this top was extra long and didn’t ride up during workouts like many others seem to do.

The capris deserve an excessive amount of praise. I can’t stand when workout capris fall down when you run or are so thin that they show every lump and bump. Not so with these!

casall 019

I love the waistband of the capris and the way it doesn’t dig into my sides. The material of the capris is thicker than other capris so they are not ideal for outside workouts in the Florida heat, but they have been perfect for gym workouts and a yoga class that I took in them a few weeks ago. The thickness of the capris makes them a lot more flattering as well and they’re backed by a three-year warranty. The downfall is the price of the apparel, which seems to be in the lululemon price range.

Casall agreed to host a giveaway on the blog very soon, so stay tuned! I have a feeling you guys will love their workout apparel and once we work out the logistics, I’ll be sure to fill you in.

My morning walk with Ryan and Sadie was a great way to start the day, especially since we were able to get outside before the heat of the day set in.

Sadie was pumped and the slightly chilly weather only heightened her enthusiasm.

casall 015

Can you see the “stick” in her mouth? Sadie found a stellar piece of mulch that she carried around with her for the last half of our walk. She’s a peach.

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was a cold and thick bowl of overnight oats topped with a sliced banana.

overnight oats with bananaovernight oats

I’m not sure what it is, but this breakfast is sitting like a rock in my stomach this morning. Very filling!

Question of the Morning

  • What brand do you think makes the most flattering workout apparel?

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I love your capris and tank! It’s super cute! The capri’s look really comfy and flattering. 🙂 I think lululemon makes really comfy and flattering looking work out clothes. I’ve never purchased anything from them but I definitely think it would be worth it.

I usually go with whatever fits properly, regardless of brand. I’m generally bigger on top than on the bottom, so that sometimes makes it tough finding things that fit. Plus it has to be in my budget – while I definitely don’t mind paying for quality, I’m not going to pay more just because of a name.

Julie! please don’t go jogging alone in the early morning even if the neighborhood is safe. My close friend was followed by two men in a car and she was alone yesterday. Of course she ran as fast as she could and went inside her house, (it was a bit dark) but the car was still there around her house. I was literally terrified by her phone call yesterday.
