Sleep In Walk

June 19, 2012 by Julie 88 Comments

This morning when the alarm went off, Ryan got out of bed and declared it “sleep in day” and we slept until 6:30 a.m. which felt glorious.

I am hoping to take a lunchtime group exercise class at the gym, so skipping our typical 5 a.m. workout and getting and extra 90 minutes of sleep sounded like a great idea.

Once we were up, we took Sadie on a 30-minute walk around the neighborhood.

casall 013

It was cool enough this morning for me to wear workout capris instead of shorts, so I threw on some of the new gear I received from Casall a few weeks ago.

casall 016

My top is the Level Rib Boxback tank in bird of paradise and the capris are the Essential Rapidry 3/4 Tights.

casall 010

I was able to pick out a top and bottom I wanted to try from Casall’s website and was very happy with my selection. I love the drifit material of the top and the extra length is perfect for someone with a really long torso like me. I struggle to find workout tops that are long enough and was relieved that this top was extra long and didn’t ride up during workouts like many others seem to do.

The capris deserve an excessive amount of praise. I can’t stand when workout capris fall down when you run or are so thin that they show every lump and bump. Not so with these!

casall 019

I love the waistband of the capris and the way it doesn’t dig into my sides. The material of the capris is thicker than other capris so they are not ideal for outside workouts in the Florida heat, but they have been perfect for gym workouts and a yoga class that I took in them a few weeks ago. The thickness of the capris makes them a lot more flattering as well and they’re backed by a three-year warranty. The downfall is the price of the apparel, which seems to be in the lululemon price range.

Casall agreed to host a giveaway on the blog very soon, so stay tuned! I have a feeling you guys will love their workout apparel and once we work out the logistics, I’ll be sure to fill you in.

My morning walk with Ryan and Sadie was a great way to start the day, especially since we were able to get outside before the heat of the day set in.

Sadie was pumped and the slightly chilly weather only heightened her enthusiasm.

casall 015

Can you see the “stick” in her mouth? Sadie found a stellar piece of mulch that she carried around with her for the last half of our walk. She’s a peach.

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was a cold and thick bowl of overnight oats topped with a sliced banana.

overnight oats with bananaovernight oats

I’m not sure what it is, but this breakfast is sitting like a rock in my stomach this morning. Very filling!

Question of the Morning

  • What brand do you think makes the most flattering workout apparel?

Love that on your “sleep in day” you sleep in until 6:30. I remember back in high school, sleeping in meant 11am! Love those Nikes! My favorite workout gear is definitely Lululemon! I love the new Reebok CrossFit clothes and sneakers too!

Love the capris! They look so comfortable. I like workout gear that makes me feel confident. It’s the perfect way to set myself up for a good workout.

And I love the Sadie pictures! I recently saw a Dogs 101 episode about vizslas—it was like seeing a bunch of Sadies running around lol Cute little personalities!

Ditto! I’m right there with you! Or when I’m running around a neighborhood and cars are driving by…. constantly pulling down so no flashes or belly showings.

LOVE the workout clothes you have on today, especially the top! Coming from another girl with a long torso, it is HARD to find shirts long enough. I hate when I am in a class and I constantly have to pull my shirt down to cover up my belly.

Can’t wait for more details about the giveaway!!

Lululemon is my favorite, but I really don’t have too much of it. I can’t wait for the giveaway because living in Boston, it can get pretty cool. I would love some capris to wear instead of shorts when it’s chilly!!

After years of loyalty to Lulelemon, I’ve switched to Nike leggings. They’re a much more flattering fit, better at sweat wicking and have perfect sized pockets for running with ID and ipod.

You look really cute and I love the color of that top! I clicked over to their website because I’m always looking to try new workout clothes but I have to say I am shocked at how expensive Casall is. And I shop at Lululemon often! Yikes! You’re lucky to have gotten to try them for free.

I live in Lululemon speed shorts and swiftly tanks and tees. Comfortable, on the cheaper end of lulu and really functional!

Those look great and I would love to try, but it is so hard for me to drop that kind of cash on workout clothes when I don’t even spend that much on regular clothes 🙂 I’m a big fan of the Old Navy compression capris, they’re comfortable and stay up well, and are just $23! They also have these loose cross-back tank tops that I am in love with for yoga.

I love your colorful top and shoes!! What a great way to brighten up the morning!! And they do look so flattering! I think Lulu really is the best! I tried to fight it for as long as I could, and then I bought my first pair of Wunder Unders and I’ve been hooked ever since!

I got a Casall tank top for $8 at a store called Clothes Mentor. The store is similar to Plato’s Closet. They have a website so you can check for store locations. They have great deals on workout clothes that would otherwise be expensive . I love the length of their tank tops:)

I tend to wear the VSX line or the Pink yoga pants from Victoria Secret’s. They are thicker and on the cheaper side for this college kid. On the other hand I normally wear a random tank top when I go out running, but I need to find something longer for me. I’ll have to start hitting up the TJ Max in my town 🙂 Thanks for always trying out new things and sharing!!!

That outfit is adorable. I try to find workout clothes that keep me cool and comfortable. I also steer clear of colors and fabrics that show a lot of sweat. I tend to have good luck finding quality clothes for cheap at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Love those stores!!!

Your workout outfit is adorable! (And while you didn’t talk about the shoes I LOVE them – that color is awesome)
I usually just end up getting whatever fits in my budget from Target, Old Navy or a TJ Maxx/Marshalls kind of place. I really want to try Lululemon but it has yet to be allowed within the budget. 🙁

Lululemon creates a demon in you! I have serious lulu problems these days! You can find good things on sale if you get there (or online) right when they re-fresh the sale rack, but sale prices are still more than like Nike or Gap clothes. I have a pair of Gap running shorts that I got recently that I adore too!

I love when new workout gear fits just right – I got a new lulu running skort for my birthday and it is perfection! I’ll have to check out these capris, I would wear them for biking tho instead of running 🙂
