Stink Eye for Sadie

April 12, 2013 by Julie 133 Comments

Today is going to be one of those days that doesn’t slow down until I crawl into bed tonight.

It began nice and early… extra early, actually.

As you may know, Ryan and I let Sadie sleep in our bedroom at night. Okay, so she actually sleeps in our bed. This image should give you a good idea about our nighttime slumber:

Sleeping with a Dog

(Source)

That picture is one of my all-time favorite Pinterest finds because it is so true. Sadie likes to begin the night curled up in the tiniest little ball. By the time the morning rolls around, she ends up spread out with rigor mortis legs pushing into our sides. We are such suckers.

Vizsla Sleeping

Anyway, for the past two nights in a row, Sadie has hopped out of bed 20 minutes before our alarm was set to go off. Apparently she needed a 4:30 a.m. bathroom break.

Sadie usually sleeps through the night, so this was rather unusual. It is really hard to fall back asleep knowing you have to get up 20 minutes later, so Sadie got the stink eye from us all morning… which didn’t seem to faze her in the least.

Workout + Breakfast

Today’s workout rounded out week two of Best Body Boot Camp! Six weeks to go!

Once we were done at the gym, Ryan and I headed home for breakfast.

I made myself an egg scramble with chicken sausage, spinach, onion and feta cheese.

scrambled eggs with sausage and feta 030

So savory!

I’m off to blow dry my hair and head out to work for a new-hire orientation. Then it’s off to Orlando for bachelorette party time!!!!

Question of the Morning

  • If you have a pet, where does your pet sleep?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

My mom and step dad have two boston terriers and even though they have them trained to sleep downstairs, I always let them sleep in my bed when I visit. I mean, how can you say no to those faces??

Our English Setter is too big (70 lbs) and too hairy to sleep in our bed, so he has a largo memory foam bed on the floor. He also has a crate with an orthopedic bed in there which he prefers on most nights and we do too. No pacing in the morning to wake us up, just a couple whimpers and a wagging tail which is much more subtle!

Glad to see Sadie back to her old self. Praying she doesn’t get any more bumps!

bahahha. yeah, I can relate to that photo at times. Lando hardly sleeps in our bed anymore. He has his own bed next to my side on the floor and is perfectly happy spreading out there. But when he does, it’s usually me falling off the bed. Our cat Chloe sleeps we us too (the other two stay in the bathroom since they chew through cables like candy) she sleeps on Eric’s pillow until he comes to bed and then spreads out between us taking up the majority of the bed.

One pup sleeps all curled up on his dog bed next to the bed. One pup sleeps in bed and does the same thing—starts out the night in a tiny ball of fur, and by AM, he’s usually got his head on the pillow next to me!

Sadie is so funny! I would probably be the one the dog would not want to sleep with… I’m a little restless! I’m jealous of your breakfast! I had today off and still only managed to snarf down a bowl of cereal!

That picture of her is hilarious!

My dog usually sleeps in our bedroom in his crate. He is VERY picky about his sleeping habits and has to have 2-3 blankets in his crate. Spoiled brat! He sleeps in our bed maybe once a week though just because I like to cuddle him. He always sleeps at my feet, though, and I feel like I’m kicking him all night!

My cat is probably the size of Sadie’s head and she still has a way of sprawling out that forces me to the edge of the bed. Animals have no concept of personal space!

Our dog sleeps in our bed too, and does the same thing as Sadie! He starts out curled up at the foot of the bed between us, but usually, when I wake up, he is all sprawled out in the middle of the bed and my fiance and I are each smushed to the edge of the bed. I don’t know how it happens, but it does, just about every night!

its so gross to have a dog sleep in the bed. I mean even if you try to keep the dog clean its still dirty. where has its mouth been? what about his paws? plus all the hair in the bed, on your pillows etc. I actually broke up with a girl because she would always let her dog sleep in the bed. it was awkward and uncomfortable to get intimate if you know what i mean. good advice for all the single girls on here dont let your pets sleep in your bed if you want a guy!

I actually have 2 dogs and 1 cat, but my family considers our cat to be “my” cat because she follows me around everywhere! When I’m home from college, she likes to sleep right on my pillow beside my head. It’s the most adorable thing! It’s not so adorable when she ends up moving over and sleeping on my head though haha!

We don’t have any pets. Eventually I would like to get a dog. My husband thinks all animals should be outdoor animals so I am going to have to fight to get the dog in the house at all. I don’t think our pets will ever sleep in bed with us, unless my husband is out of town. 🙂

That is too funny. Sadie is huge, that is some tiny ball she’s in. Looks like she doesn’t leave you with much room in your bed. Our dog Frito used to sleep with my husband Tim before I met him, but when we got involved I put a stop to that. Frito was too harry and left his hairs all over our comforter. So now he sleeps on Tim’s shoes on his side of the bed. It’s funny, it’s like his own pillow. Have a good weekend, can’t wait to hear about it.

I lovee dogs, but they can be super frustrating when you’re just trying to take some time to yourself. I think it’s really funny when my mom and I are trying to do a yoga dvd at home and our dog can’t help but to run over and “join in,” but when he paces around at night because he can’t sleep I can hear his nails pat against the wood floors and it always wakes me up!

I have a dachshund at my parent’s house and even though he’s a TINY baby, he takes up THE MOST ROOM in the bed. Feet in your back, sleeping on your legs and trapping you, sometimes sleeping on your head.

So funny! Me and my husband share our bed with our tiny Chihuahua, Pepe, and our not so tiny cat, Freya and to be honest, I think the bed would feel strangely empty without them there! Pepe loves to sleep under the covers at my feet, but Freya always manages to commandeer my pillow and I wake up with my head on the mattress!

I have two fatty kitties who will sleep at our feet most of the time facing the door like two little sphinxes. Although there have been some nights where I’ll wake up and one of them will have stealthily placed himself into the crook of my arm laying across my belly. And then my heart explodes from the cuteness.

Oh man, my boyfriend insists on ‘cuddling’ with our 85 lbs boxer/american bulldog each night in bed which equals our dog having an amazing sleep, me having no covers and dog paws in our back!!!! And now he gets up at 5 am for a ‘light pee’ and falls right back asleep while we all are wide awake!

I have a cat, Bella and everytime my boyfriend is away for a night I think ‘awww, it would be nice for us both to have some company tonight’ and let her stay in the bedroom. This results in her sleeping in various positions whilst sprawled across my face with me sucking in cat hair until the point in the early hours of the morning where I storm downstairs and throw her outside because I’m too tired to care anymore!
Why do we always forget?! Animals in bed are such a bad, bad idea!!!

Who says you can”t sleep with your dog – despite what our dog trainer told us – never let them get on the bed! It’s more about dog attitude – if they get off when told it’s fine. Just don’t let them take ‘command’ of the bed

We’ve got 2 German Shepherds (100 & 65 lbs respectively) and they make a routine visit to the bed every morning – then you have to get up. There is no room left for either of us – only dogs. Love your dog they are never here for long enough
