The Chattaway

March 28, 2011 by Julie 52 Comments

Eclectic, totally unique restaurants are some of my favorite finds. When Ryan and I arrived in St. Pete last night to stay with my parents for the evening (I have a dentist appointment here first thing this morning), my parents took us to The Chattaway, a garden restaurant complete with twinkling lights and fantasty-like décor.

A man was playing live music ranging from The Beatles to Bob Marley, which all of the restaurant guests seemed to enjoy.

As I perused the menu, one thing immediately caught my eye.

Hot roast beef with gravy!

chattaway 004

Something about salty gravy and warm, crusty bread just called to me.

The meal was pretty good. Nothing amazing, but it quenched my hunger and got some food in my belly in an adorable atmosphere.

We ate as the sun set and once it was dark outside, we headed home to spend the evening relaxing on the couch.

Breakfast

This morning we awoke nice and early and ready for our morning meal!

I made myself a smoothie that included the following:

  • 1.5 frozen bananas
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 c. milk

Enjoyed outside by the pool!

While I was blending the smoothie, I also snacked on a small bowl full of mini wheats cereal with milk.

Now I’m in a bit of a hurry, as I have an appointment with the dentist.

Gotta go brush my teeth… and floss! Smile

Haha, I always floss before a dentist appointment. It’s as if one flossing is going to erase the months where I didn’t floss.

That does look like such a cute restaurant! I can’t wait to be able to dine al fresco. 🙂

Is it totally weird that I enjoy going to the dentist? (I’ll answer that: yes.) It’s just that most of my dentists have been old friends of my parents, so it’s nice to see them and catch up 😉

Glad to see you’re feeling well and have some real food eaten; that broccoli looked delicious. Hey, I just figured out lunch!
