Things I’m Loving Friday #102

September 18, 2015 by Julie 63 Comments

Hello, hello! It’s Friday and we actually have plans to get out of the house this weekend. Whaaaat!? Assuming all goes according to plan, we’re hoping to head out on a family adventure to an apple orchard and also swing by a local festival on Saturday. Both activities seem baby-friendly (outside + loud + no one will really notice/care if Chase has a meltdown) and I am looking forward to some fun with my favorite people.

Before the excitement of the weekend sets in, let’s chat about what we’re all loving most this week in your weekly Things I’m Loving Friday post! Below you will find a list of the things that are making me smile right now and I’d love to hear all about what you’re loving in the comments section. Have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

Things I’m Loving Friday

  • Our Little Trooper

dog in tshirt

Thanks so much for all of the kind well-wishes you guys sent Sadie’s way. She had her surgery on Monday afternoon and the lumps were successfully removed. (She’s currently sporting a t-shirt so she doesn’t scratch her stitches.) Sadie’s veterinarian said she got good margins on her mast cell tumor and we are still awaiting her results. They should be in sometime today and I am very hopeful that Sadie will be okay. She’s already back to her crazy old self and, per her vet’s instructions, we’re trying our best to make her rest and relax a bit which is basically impossible. She’s cleared to play and go for walks again tomorrow, so we’ll definitely be getting her outside!

  • Dear Lillie Blog

Dear Lillie Blog

I am in love with this design blog! I featured their Instagram page in a past TILF post and think their blog is just as gorgeous! The decorating style of Jennifer is equal parts comfortable and beautiful and I actually ordered a light from Pottery Barn using a gift card I had on hand after seeing it in one of her Instagram posts. I’m hoping it will help me transform our dining room to look a little bit more “Dear Lillie-ish,” although I know that’s way easier said than done!

  • Fabletics Lace Capris

Fabletics Lace Capris

Fabletics Lace Crops

These capris got some love after I shared a picture of them on Instagram last week and I figured I should include them in my post today because I really am diggin’ them! They’re the Fabletics Tuberose Capri and I absolutely love the lace detailing. They’re quite comfortable and the material is thick and slimming. An all-around win!

  • Mom & Baby Costumes

Cookie Monster Costume

Red Riding Hood Costume

Mom and Popcorn Baby Costume

My blogging buddy Alyssa sent these pictures to me for some Halloween costume inspiration and I thought they were too cute not to share. The little popcorn baby kills me!

  • Carter’s Finds

Carter's Baby Boy Clothes

Having my mom in town this week has been a treat! The two of us were feeling adventurous and took Chase out to the local outlet mall yesterday morning. He did so well and I was very grateful that the mall had a nursing room so we could take a break about an hour into our trip and I could nurse him comfortably in a glider which helped us avoid a meltdown. Our main goal was to swap out some of the clothing we received for Chase for sizes that fit at Carter’s. (We received a lot of summer clothing in 3-6 month sizes which are too big right now, but will likely be too small by next summer.) I absolutely love the new clothes we picked out for him and can’t wait for the temperatures to drop a little bit more so we can bundle him up in the cutest vests and sweaters.

Sadie is just too precious! This week, I’m loving the .25 cent coffees at the Whole Foods in South Park. I don’t know about the other Whole Foods in the Charlotte area, but the special is running at the South Park one until the 30th. Can’t pass up a deal like that! 🙂

In love with mom and baby costumes. Love dressing up each year for Halloween! I’m usually Snow White and have my girls dress up as little Snow Whites. I make my husband who is super tall dress up as Prince Charming. Why he agrees to this, I do not know! I would personally bulk at it. I found some “man stockings” at Target which work great for um, men. It’s funny walking down the block and the men all laughing at him. He’s clueless so it works perfect.

Glad to hear that Sadie’s surgery was successful! Those mama/baby costumes are adorable! Especially with having an infant at halloween time. If you wanted to make it a full family affair for the popcorn outfit, Sadie could be the hot dog and Ryan could be dressed similar to you working at the concession stand 🙂

    Good to hear about Sadie!

Have you read The Happiest Baby on the Block? If not I highly recommend it! It will give you so many ways to comfort Chase when he’s upset and prevent any meltdowns before they start. You’ll seriously feel so much more confident about taking him out in public!

Carter’s is for sure my downfall. You’re going to love that fleece coverall! Last year we bought my son a fleece coverall from Old Navy – it had footies and hand covers (like the ones on newborn clothes) and it was PERFECT for going out, especially since he always pulls socks RIGHT off. Seriously, he wore it all winter and it was a life saver since sometimes layers and separates are a real pain on a little baby when they ride up.
