Things I’m Loving Friday XXI

February 21, 2014 by Julie 98 Comments

Friday is here!!! WOOP! I am so ready for the weekend. We have lots of fun stuff on the agenda, which segues perfectly into the first bullet point I have for today’s Things I’m Loving Friday post!

Please feel free to play along and share something you’re loving in the comments section of this post! I always love reading about things that are making you smile.

Things I’m Loving Friday

  • 26.2 with Donna Breast Cancer Marathon Relay

26.2 with donna

I am running the 26.2 with Donna Breast Cancer Marathon Relay with Ryan, my dad, my sister and my sister’s fiancé this weekend. We are running in honor of my mom on Sunday and I am really excited! I am kicking off the marathon relay with the first spot on our relay team and will be running 6 miles. Time to round up my pink race-day outfit!

  • Refillable K-Cup

Refillable KCup

On occasion, when I blog about my favorite flavored coffees, a few of you will leave comments along the lines of, “I wish I could try a bunch of different coffee flavors, but I only have a Keurig.” We also only have a Keurig at our house, but I don’t buy K-Cups and brew whatever flavored coffee I am loving at the moment using my refillable K-Cup. It’s fabulous, more cost-effective and better for the environment, too!

  • Adorable Animal Links

Pictures of adorable animals will never get old. Two super-cute links of note this week:

1. Before/After Animal Pictures <— Shared on the PBF Facebook page earlier this week and way too adorable

pets-before-after-15

2. Animals at the Vet

Animals at the Vet

I think I need to submit this picture of Sadie at the vet to be included in the above roundup:

sadie vet

Can you tell she loves her vet!?

  • Long Workout Leggings

Workout LEggings

I am 5’7’’ and while I realize this is not extremely tall, it’s tall enough to make the length of certain compression leggings feel too short. During my sister’s bachelorette party, I lent my pair of Old Navy compression leggings to Leslie’s friend Colleen who is 5’10’’. She was thrilled when she pulled them on and they were actually long enough to cover her whole leg. (I wear these workout leggings with sweaters and boots all the time. Shhh.) More favorite workout leggings: Moving Comfort Urban Gym Tight (I have them in “black space dye”) and the Reebok One Series Legging. (And for those who love cute workout gear as much as I do, how cute is this Moving Comfort tunic!? I saw it when I was looking for the link to the leggings I like and fell in love. It’s on my birthday wish list… for April.)

  • Clearly Kombucha

Clearly Kombucha

A few months ago, I tried kombucha (a fermented tea-based beverage) for the first time and was not a fan. I wrote about my experience on the blog, using eloquent descriptive words along the lines of “it tastes like armpit” or something of the sort. When the folks at Clearly Kombucha emailed me and encouraged me to try their kombucha, I told them I wasn’t a fan of kombucha and that the creepy slimy stuff in the drink gave me the heebie jeebies. They assured me that their kombucha didn’t have any of the phlegm-like stuff that creeped me out before and told me I should give kombucha another chance. (Many of you guys echoed similar sentiments!) Well, I’m glad I did because I am completely swayed. I’m not sure whether I picked a horrible flavor before or if a big sip of creepy slimy stuff is what turned me off to the drink in the past, but the two bottles of Clearly Kombucha I drank this week were so different. I liked that they weren’t overly sweet but just sweet enough to be palatable. I already placed an order on Amazon for more of the raspberry ginger kombucha to have around the house as a special treat!

I am loving granola lately. I am 5 months pregnant and avoided it for a long time since it’s so high calorie but now I am on my third brand. What is your favorite store bough granola taste wise?

Howdy! Did you buy the ‘tall’ leggings from Old Navy? Or regular size? Also: do you find that the band is really tight? I absolutely despise tight bands so I’m wondering if I should buy ‘up’ a size to avoid that…? Thoughts?

      thanks!

The regular ones were plenty long!! And no, the band was not too tight. I think they fit true to size if not a little large. Hope this helps!

There are also disposable K-cups that you can fill up with your own coffee grounds. This makes it easier since you don’t have to clean it out!

My aunt recently had a baby and sends us a “Friday Smiles” picture. Definitely on my Things I’m Loving Friday list.

      Happy Friday!

Those refillable K-cups are the only way to go! Keurig also makes a refillable k-cup, but it was such a pain that I switched to the same red one that you show and absolutely love it. It makes the perfect cup of coffee.

One thing I’m loving lately: Jergen’s Natural Glow lotion for my face! I feel like I’ve been looking so pasty lately, so it helps to add some glow to my face. And best of all, it doesn’t smell or make me look orange.

Since I moved away from Florida, the thing I miss the most is running on flat land, near the beach, with the salt in the air. The Donna race has such great energy – have fun and good luck!
