Things I’m Loving Friday XXIX

April 18, 2014 by Julie 57 Comments

Hi guys! This post is going up a little later than usual because Ryan and I ended up driving to Jacksonville last night. I jumped at the chance to take a 9:30 a.m. BodyPump class at my parents’ gym this morning, so everything got pushed back a little bit.

BodyPump.jpg

BodyPump is always worth a little rearranging!

Today’s class was a great one and my chest was on fire during the chest track! The highlight of the class for me came when they played a La Bouche song which quickly claimed a spot on today’s Things I’m Loving Friday list…

Things I’m Loving Friday

  • La Bouche

La Bouche Sweet Dreams CD

As “Tonight Is the Night” started blaring in today’s BodyPump class, I had to will myself over and over again not to sing aloud. The La Bouche Sweet Dreams album is one heck of a jammin’ CD and as I sat down to type up this blog post, I’ve already turned to YouTube to blast “Be My Lover,” “Sweet Dreams,” and  “Where Do You Go,” so I am feeling quite hyped up at the moment. I used to listen to La Bouche non-stop when the “Sweet Dreams” CD first came out and can still remember making up dances in my basement to “Be My Lover” with my best friend Michaela when we were younger. (I’m pretty sure that the super-impressive grapevine and the jazz square were the foundation of our amazing dance routines.)

  • Pomsky

Pomsky

I had never heard of a pomsky until my friend Carrie told me about them last weekend. A quick Google image search resulted in my heart basically exploding from all of the cuteness. The pomsky (half Pomeranian, half husky) may be one of the cutest little dogs I have ever seen in my life. If you need to smile today, search for pictures of pomsky puppies. Adorable!

  • Easter Treats

Cadbury Eggs Mini

Easter is Sunday but that doesn’t mean I’ve waited to consume Easter treats. The mini Cadbury eggs are my favorite. So creamy and delicious! And have you tried the Starburst “Fav Reds” jellybeans? A package of only red and pink jellybeans!? Someone at Starburst deserves a raise for this idea. Yes!

  • Moroccan Oil

Moroccan Oil

Approximately two years ago, I received a bottle of Moroccan oil in a swag bag I received at the Fitness Magazine Meet ‘n’ Tweet event. Until earlier this month, it had been sitting in a drawer in my bathroom. After reading an article about the benefits of Moroccan oil for your hair (decreased breakage, increased shine, decreased frizziness), I decided to give it a go and have been applying it to the dry ends of my hair. I’m amazed at how quickly my hair soaks it up! My hair can get quite greasy at the roots, but the ends are always rather dry, so I’ve been applying a tiny bit to the ends and love the way it adds moisture to my hair.

  • Delicate Gold Necklaces

gold necklace

Though I adore the look of bold, statement jewelry, something about the simple look of a delicate gold necklace always catches my eye. I’ve found myself wearing a basic gold necklace nearly every day and feel like the simple look goes with just about any outfit. My three favorites: Infinity necklace, cross necklace and Dogeared simple heart necklace (I also just bought this gold initial necklace for a newly-engaged friend with her husband-to-be’s initial on it. Love!)

I was just telling my boyfriend, Kyle, that we NEED a pomsky in our lives when we’re older! They’re just so stinkin’ cute!

I love delicate gold necklaces as well. They have as much character as statement jewelry in their own subtle way :).

La Bouche is giving me total elementary school flash backs right now! haha I may have to download some of that 😉 I am a total fan of delicate gold necklaces and think Dogeared has the greatest selection. I wore the heck out of my tiny gold wishbone necklace until it broke 🙁

Cadbury Mini Eggs rock my world! Whenever I mention them people think I’m talking about Cadbury Cream Eggs and get a disgusted facial expression. The mini eggs are my absolute favorite chocolate candy ever of all time. I hoard them from February to April so that I might hopefully have some left through the summer. 🙂

Cadbury Mini Eggs are my favorite too, hands down! I have to give myself pep talks when I pass them at the store, to keep myself from purchasing several large bags! THE. BEST. 🙂 Also, I went to Body Pump this morning as well! Looks like we’re having similar Fridays!

Oh, man–La Bouche! That brings me back. Pretty sure one of their songs was on one of the Jock Jam CDs, too. I just heard a song earlier this week on the radio that I said, “I haven’t heard this in so long, brings me right back to middle school” and for the life of me, I can’t remember it. I did also hear some Everclear earlier this week, so that counts. I love me some 90s alterative!
That dog is adorable and I love that necklace. I am both a numbers nerd (statistics major in college) and 8 is my favorite number, so I love the infinity symbol.

Hi, Julie! This is super random, but I was doing today’s Washington Post crossword puzzle and one clue was, “Central Florida City” and I already had the first letter as an “O.” Normally I would have defaulted to Orlando because it’s the only one I know, but due to your blog I realized I knew another one and put Ocala–and it was correct! 🙂

As I’m sure you are familiar with, working in an office comes with it’s fair share of daily temptations — right now in the form of Easter candy, cupcakes, etc. I try to combat the urge to eat them by keeping healthier snacks at my desk. Right now I am obsessed with the Archer Farms brand “honey cinnamon almonds” (found at Target)! They are seriously so good — a similar flavor combo to your peanut butter + cinnamon popcorn recipe you posted a while back. Really worth a try! 🙂

Loving the Argan Magic Blow Straight and the Arganicare Hair Mask (not the same company, which it took me embarassingly long to figure out… my notes are on this post: http://clg1213.blogspot.com/2014/03/rambler-raves-rambler-rants.html). My hair is a bit different than yours though…super frizzy, naturally some messy place between curly and wavy so I blow-dry it straight (or flat iron if i feel fancy!)
