TRX Circuit Workout

May 8, 2014 by Julie 39 Comments

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, Ryan and I have plans to head to my in-laws’ house after work today. We haven’t spent quality time with them in months (they came to Ross and Leslie’s wedding, but that was a blur!) and I’m really looking forward to relaxing in their beautiful backyard and catching up!

(Speaking of Ross and Leslie’s wedding, I still owe you part three of the recap. I thought I had all of the pictures I needed on the USB they sent to me, but I am missing a bunch. Hope to have it up as soon as I get the remaining pictures!)

We’re hoping to spend some time on the beach and possibly kayak during our weekend in Sarasota. Lots of fun on the agenda!

TRX Workout

This morning, I am planning to complete the following workout, which is the same workout I’m going to teach to my TRX class:

Super Sweaty TRX Workout

I intentionally followed a TRX exercise with a non-TRX exercise that targets the same muscles as the TRX exercise before it in part one to fatigue the muscles in a short amount of time. The cardio portion kicks in once part two begins. I think it will be a tough one!

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was an old favorite.

Overnight Oats with Fruit

Overnight oats!

Overnight Oats with Fresh Fruit

I topped a batch of overnight oats with freshly chopped strawberries and apples and added some sliced almonds on top for a little crunch.

I’m hoping this will fuel me through TRX and tide me over until it’s time for my morning snack.

Have a great Thursday!

Question of the Morning

  • Are you doing anything special for Mother’s Day this year?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Have fun with your in-laws! I always have a blast staying with my in-laws; it kind of feels like a little mini vacation. 🙂 This weekend we are helping my brother and SIL move and then Sunday we are having a lunch with my family for Mother’s Day.

I won’t be spending Mother’s Day with my mom, but I will celebrate with her next weekend. And last weekend we celebrated with my mother in law. We spent the day shopping for the baby and had her pick out her new Pandora bracelet and charms. It was such a fun day.

Have a great weekend spending time with your family. My mom is going camping with my step-dad for the weekend, so I will not get to see her until the day after. We will likely go for a hike or bike ride and out to lunch the next day or so. I have a few fun gifts for her as well.

What a nice weekend you have ahead!

This year is my first year being a mom…so it’s extra exciting. I have always appreciated my mother but even more now that I am a mother myself and realize what that entails!

My mom is 600 miles away, so I just sent her a card. I will be celebrating with my future MIL with a cookout and fire pit. 🙂

I’ve only done TRX one time and am looking forward to learning how to create effective exercise programs with it now that I’m a trainer.

My mother’s day plans are awesome: but sadly, they don’t include my Mom who lives across the country. I’m going camping with a big group of friends in the redwoods. Can’t wait! 🙂

I love TRX workouts! Unfortunately my gym keeps the TRX bands under lock and key. I used to do personal training and had access to them for my workouts but my trainer transferred to another gym and I stopped. Now, the TRX bands sit alone on a shelf in a locked room and I swear I have never seen anyone use them. So sad 🙁

No plans with my mom for Mother’s Day, unfortunately, but I plan to at least give her a phone call on Sunday, and maybe call my grandmas as well. I did send her a cookie bouquet, though, so hopefully she feels the daughterly love from long distance 🙂

My Mom lives in WI so no I won’t be spending it with her although we will skype. I wish I could be with her since she just had her heart surgery, but my work is crazy stressful busy right now and I can’t travel from AZ to WI right now. Your breakfast food always looks so pretty!

Our family is going down to my uncle’s to celebrate for my mom’s side and then to my dad’s mom’s later to celebrate with her 🙂 LOVE FAMILY TIME!!! I have a workout question for you. A lot of your workouts are total body workouts, and I’m wondering if I am trying to gain muscle mass would you recommend total body workouts or more muscle area specific workouts (I am trying to gain more in my glutes especially so I usually have leg/ab days and then more cardio/arm days). I hve done a few total body workouts but want to know your opinion!

I would tend to recommend workouts that target specific muscle groups with heavier weights. 🙂
