Type Talk

February 14, 2011 by Julie 83 Comments

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine's Day Breakfast

Yes, I’m a cornball who makes heart shaped breakfasts on Valentine’s Day. I blame my mother who would always make us pink heart-shaped pancakes on February 14.

My breakfast this morning included a bowl of Greek yogurt topped with strawberry slices and chia seeds.

I also included heart-healthy walnuts in my yogurt bowl, but photographed them on the side so as not to ruin my picturesque breakfast.

Heart Healthy

It was a festive and filling breakfast. The perfect post-gym treat!

Workout

My workout today included a BodyPump class, followed by 25 minutes on the elliptical. I was really feelin’ the gym for some reason. I found myself wishing my gym offered a yoga class in the mornings on Monday because I was in the mood to stretch and sweat some more. I settled for a nice cool walk with Sadie instead.

Type Talk

Now I have a fun Valentine’s Dayish question for you!

How would you describe your type?

(As in, what features, characteristics and personality traits do you look for in a love-ah?)

My type:

  • A guy’s guy (I love that Ryan can be found in basketball shorts 99 percent of the time)
  • Dark hair
  • Tall (I’m 5’7” and feel like a behemoth around short guys)
  • Beefy (I like muscles 😉 ) and athletic
  • Loving and affectionate
  • Ambitious
  • Funny
  • Family-oriented

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I don’t really have a “type”, but I really love my husband who is 6’8” to my 5’4”. He is great with mechanical things, electronics, cars, and all kinds of “guy” things. And he’s strong enough to pick me up and big enough to make me feel safe and protected. Oh and he wants kids as much as I do, which is great since we have been trying for soooo long and he still wants them with me 🙂

Someone who will be a good father, shows the qualities that will make him a good husband, works hard to be a good provider, loves his parents as a good son, and has the dignity to be a good man. That’s my type. 🙂

I laughed reading everyone saying they wanted a TALL man! I’m only 5’3 and the husband is 6’2 so I ended up with a tall one, but for some reason I’ve always been attracted to shorter men. In college my friends would always point out the shorter ones for me. 😆

My type sounds like the same as yours; but I’m not so into the “beefy-ness.” I don’t mind skinny guys as long a s they have a bit of muscle but not too much. 🙂 Also, dark features (hair, eyes) seem to be attractive to me.

    Loves family

I love that most people described the person they’re in a relationship with. Long ago, before my boyfriend and I started dating, I liked blonde guys and gone are those days. If I think a guy is attractive he usually resembles my boyfriend, it’s too weird. I love pretty much everything about him even the things that drive me crazy are just so him that I love them!

My type: (haha kind of a pun!…ok anyway)….
I love a man that is self Aware … this is kind of a catch all; not only does he take care of himself mentally and as far as appearance goes but he can handle a multitude of social environments and carries himself and his words like a man…lol like a MAN! I love that he will stand behind his family, my family, and me regardless of the situation but isn’t afraid to tell the truth when we’re wrong. He has kind eyes, which are comforting in times of need, he’s tall with a great sense of humor and treats a woman like a woman… to him chivalry isn’t overrated. My favorite piece of the puzzle…he 100% completely stands out in a crowd of men just by being himself. I am SO incredibly lucky, awww darn you Julie + Valentine’s Day!….I’m all teary now. *sigh*

Every guy I’ve ever dated can be described by the same traits:
    – 5’10 to 6’1
    – Brown hair
    – Blue eyes
    – Athletic
    – Strong work ethic
    – Likes to be the center of attention
    – Funny
    – Charming

My husband is all of that, and more! He is also extremely loyal, likes to talk about anything/everything with me, thoughtful, family-oriented, and truly my best friend. 🙂

    Tall
    Confident

    Athletic
    Genuine
    Loyal
    GENTLEMAN

This is turning into a grocery list haha
I agree with all of your points too!

Witty – not just funny, but clever
Open-minded with a desire to learn and experience new things
I like dark features, the more exotic the better
If not exotic, then I like a shaved head
I don’t go for scrawny or too beefy. just a normal body type
    ambitious
    kind
    open to adoption

    Fun question!

This is so hard because my *type* before meeting Ryan was totally different than what he’s like…but I much prefer him to the ex’s or ideals. I used to dig grizzled funny men that bordered on bad boys. That didn’t work out so hot for me. So now I will say:
    *motivated
    *funny
    *smart
    *dorky
    *affectionate
    *athletic
    *healthy
Because my type is the guy I have 😉
    *loyal

    *facial hair…scruffy, mountain man
    *athletic
    *tall
    *funny
    *dark features
    *deep voice

Boy do I have a type. Tall, dark hair, dark skin, and gorgeous eyes. I also seem to like skinny boys. But more than looks~funny, smart, not too serious, competitive, and looks great in a hoodie and jeans 🙂 Oh, and a man who is a great father. Hence why I married my hubby, he’s all of these and so much more

You basically wrote out my type! Right down to being 5’7 and feeling like a behemoth around shorter guys.

Although I seem to like “lean muscle” the most on guys (like swimmer’s bodies like phelps!) 😉

Oohh, I love stuff like this!

    My Type:

Nerdy/Smart (every guy I have dated has been an engineer/computer scientist)
    Silly/Goofy
    Responsible
Athletic (I think a guy who is good at sports is a turn on)
Taller then me by a few inches which is not hard
Thick thighs or as I call them, baseball thighs (I hate when a guy has skinny legs)
Outgoing and easy to get along with
    Dark hair
Doesn’t mind me spending alot on clothes, accessories, and food

The man I am marrying is all of these things so yippee for me!

    – confident, but not cocky

    – funny
    – has to have a kind facial expression (i strongly believe that you can tell a lot about someone's personality through their natural facial expression!)

No offense to Ryan, but crazy muscles are a deal-breaker for me! I like a good amount of athleticism, but I worry enough about my bod for the two of us — I can’t have a guy who’s at the gym all the time or worried about how cut he is!

And in general, huge muscles just kind of scare me. . . in a “will it pop?!” kind of way. I know, I’m a huge idiot.

Again, hundreds of billions of girls drool over this type, so truly not meant to sound insulting! I like a goofy Andy Samberg type — a funny, kinda cute, good jewish boy 😉
