Type Talk

February 14, 2011 by Julie 83 Comments

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine's Day Breakfast

Yes, I’m a cornball who makes heart shaped breakfasts on Valentine’s Day. I blame my mother who would always make us pink heart-shaped pancakes on February 14.

My breakfast this morning included a bowl of Greek yogurt topped with strawberry slices and chia seeds.

I also included heart-healthy walnuts in my yogurt bowl, but photographed them on the side so as not to ruin my picturesque breakfast.

Heart Healthy

It was a festive and filling breakfast. The perfect post-gym treat!

Workout

My workout today included a BodyPump class, followed by 25 minutes on the elliptical. I was really feelin’ the gym for some reason. I found myself wishing my gym offered a yoga class in the mornings on Monday because I was in the mood to stretch and sweat some more. I settled for a nice cool walk with Sadie instead.

Type Talk

Now I have a fun Valentine’s Dayish question for you!

How would you describe your type?

(As in, what features, characteristics and personality traits do you look for in a love-ah?)

My type:

  • A guy’s guy (I love that Ryan can be found in basketball shorts 99 percent of the time)
  • Dark hair
  • Tall (I’m 5’7” and feel like a behemoth around short guys)
  • Beefy (I like muscles 😉 ) and athletic
  • Loving and affectionate
  • Ambitious
  • Funny
  • Family-oriented

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

My type is exactly like who I married – someone determined, passionate, honest, and FUN!!! He likes to get sweaty, but he’s comfortable enough with himself to carry my purse. But most of all, he challenges me to be a better person, but will love me with all his heart no matter what.

    -athletic and into fitness
-supportive of me and my crazy addiction to running (doesn’t have to be a runner, but can at least appreciate it)
-tall (I’m just shy of 5′ 7″ too so I need someone a little taller- or at least the same height)

It’s funny because if I go back in my dating database (haha) all the guys I have dated (and the one I eventually married) all looked the same: tall, blond, green or blue eyes, athletic. Weird…because I don’t consiously remember picking that out. But emotionally I need someone who is family oriented, affectionate and is kind of dorky…because I am a dork at heart! haha!

    HAAAAPPY Valentine’s Day!

you know, I’m wondering if a lot of our “types” are the same because a lot of us are the same… a lot of us healthy living bloggers have the same values and hobbies, so therefore, for the most part, probably look for the same kinda guy! 🙂

    my qualifications:

-A REAL guy’s guy (I love when a guy is good at sports… and can whoop my butt in the gym
-Big, pretty eyes (long lashes are a bonus)
-Tall (I’m almost 5’9″, so a tall guy is REALLY a must for me!)
    -Gimme those big muscles!
-Loving/affectionate/likes to spoil me in little ways (like little treats or notes, etc.)
    -Ambitious. HUGE value.
-Funny/Witty – when guys can make me laugh, it makes me want to spend lots of time with them!
    -Confident
-Preppy (of course, not a must… but I prefer it. ;))

Valentines Day = a perfect day to listen on loop to: “iffff i haaaad words to make one daaayyy for yoooouuuu..”

Honestly, I think all my guys are a little different but the things that tie them together are they’re 1) significantly taller than me (even though I’m short!) 2) Intelligent and business minded and 3) Sociable and funny.

Besides that, I think I’m learning that my biggest “type” is in how the guy and I interact together and the type of relationship we form – the comfort factor to do anything together, the fun factor of going out together and sharing our friends, the communication to speak openly to each other and most importantly, the ability for me to feel like I can openly show my love and have it returned. I’m actually writing about this today in an attempt to remind the universe what I’m looking for 😉
