Weird Things I Do Daily

Check out this monster!

giant veggie burger 011

That would be my almost-to-big-for-my-mouth veggie burger bagelwich!

I wasn’t sure if I would be able to fit it all in my mouth (TWSS)…

giant veggie burger 014

But I dug deep and achieved victory!

giant veggie burger 006

On top of a toasted onion bagel, I enjoyed one of my favorite veggie burgers, topped with ketchup, mustard, relish, lettuce, tomato slices and sauerkraut.

I inhaled this lunch!

Weird Things I Do Daily

And now it’s time for some randomness!

As I took Sadie for her walk this morning, I started to think about some of the odd things I do day in and day out. I think everyone has a routine of some sort and habits they do each day.

Here are some of the odd things I find myself doing throughout any given day:

  • I always wipe the doggie eye boogers out of Sadie’s eyes immediately after I wake up.
  • I jam out to throwback CDs from my junior high and high school years as I get ready (think Alanis Morissette, ‘NSync, Night at the Roxbury soundtrack, Dave Matthews Band, OAR, etc.).
  • I ask myself whether or not I really need to shower after the gym… and then I always do. I hate showering and am convinced I never would if I didn’t work out.
  • I visit the Breast Cancer Site and click the big, pink button to give a woman a free mammogram.
  • Whenever I leave the house, I always say, “Bye, bye Sadie. I love you, baby girl. Be good. I’ll be home soon.” She understands me.
  • I think to myself that I should do more yoga.
  • I take a bite out of one of the frozen bananas I have stored in the freezer and put it back into the bag while I’m making breakfast.
  • I plan on making one thing for dinner in the morning and then change my mind after lunch (unless it’s a crock pot meal!).
  • I have an internal debate as to whether or not I should try to convince Ryan to just eat fro yo for dinner with me. (This is every day. Seriously. Thank goodness all of our fro yo places are at least 10 minutes away or have awful parking arrangements.)
  • I think about getting another dog and check vizsla rescue websites. Ryan banned me from sending him pictures of dogs that need rescuing. It makes him too sad. I tricked him into thinking I adopted a vizsla puppy about a month ago and he was actually really excited, so then I felt awful! He’s been wanting another dog for a while now, but I’m still nervous and apprehensive about it!
  • I always have to kiss Ryan good night. We’ll often be up late talking and eventually I roll on my side and get so, so tired, but I always have to kiss him goodnight or I’ll feel like it’s bad luck and I’m jinxed or something. So strange.
  • I pick at Sadie’s toenails and check her ears. She hates this. I think it’s the big sister in me coming out… I like to pester.

Haha! I do the same dog things too! My husband has to tell me to stop showing him dogs on petfinder on my iphone when we’re home. 🙂 And I also tell my doggie “Bye! Be a good boy, Mommy and Daddy will be back soon! Love you!”. He thinks it means “Go run outside and find the treats we hid for you!”. 🙂 He gets a scavenger hunt every morning!

    1. I always HAVE to kiss Alex goodnight as well! Even if we’re frustrated with each other, we both know that a kiss is mandatory! When he’s gone (which is a lot 🙁 ) We “kiss” on facetime on our iphones. We’re lame!!

    2. When I leave I always either say:
“Bye Hunter– be good! Momma loves you!”
    OR
“Cya next week Hunter. Or next month. Whenever I feel like comin’ home! Just kidding — see you in a few!”

I wash my feet every night before I get into bed – started in college when I was wearing flip flops all day walking to and from class. If I washed my feet before bed, I somehow justified that I didn’t have to shower every night.

I check FB before I get out of bed and before I go to sleep. Its like Im missing out if I dont.

I sleep with the TV on, I cant sleep without noise.

I have to have ALL the doors/cabinets/drawers in the entire house closed. It creeps me out if they are opened.

I have A LOT of OCD habits :-\

I also hate showering! Yes! Actually I hate the whole getting ready process – blow drying, straightening, makeup blah, blah, blah. I just want to wake up & be perfectly ready!
I do lots of random & OCD things during the day:
-When I wake up I always check groupon. Sometimes I’ll even read the discussion part of the groupon even if I’m not interested in that groupon because I like to see what other people are discussing! Lol!
    – I always drink coffee out of the same purple mug. I have 2 mugs but one has a tiny chip & I hate drinking out of it
    – I drive my kids to school & in the car I always say “are we ready?” in a sing song voice & they reply ” yes, we are!” actually just my 4 year old says it , my 10 year old just looks at me like I’m nuts.
    – I always check on my kids once or twice in the middle if the night to see if they’re breathing. My oldest son was born 15 weeks early & would randomally stop breathing when he was a baby. So the need to check on my kids at night has stayed with me.
Lots more, but I’m sure I’ve met my quota of comment space!

I usually wash my hair every other day (it’s just way too much work to do daily) but some days, I can put it up in a bun or a cute pony and make it work for the office. But I ALWAYS plan on getting up to do my hair and then I make that call in the morning… and that call is to go back to sleep 99% of the time haha. This isn’t a daily thing, but I also ALWAYS check my phone anytime I’m with someone who is talking about someone else that is in my phone. I just get so concerned that my phone might call them that I have to double check! I guess I also pick things up with my toes- hair ties, papers, clothes, you name it haha which is def weird.

I am also obsessed with fro yo and I used to do it for dinner way too often. Now I only make it a treat if I’ve already had dinner!

Weird things I do daily? hmmmm. I make a visit to the fruit guy around the corner (his apples are so cheap!) and buy 3 apples. And I usually eat all three every day! I also have different Pandora station for different times of the day:
Morning – Boys II Men station
Walk to Subway – Rascal Flatts
Work Day – Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift
Subway Ride Home – IT ALL DEPENDS ON MY MOOD 🙂

Every single morning she walks me to the door at exactly 7:34am (shes freakish that way), and I tell her, “bye sweet girl, be good, have a good day, I love you. See you after work.” Im so glad Im not the only one that does that!

One thing that’s odd that I do daily – and it drives my bf nuts (and not in the good way) – is play with his nipples while cuddling before going to sleep at night/before getting out of bed in the morning. I can’t help it – it’s like a weird comfort thing, like a kid that sucks their thumb.

    Yah, I’m a weirdo.

And I also tell my cats to be good when I leave…even though all they do is lay around all day.

At work when I open my daily windows and the little tabs appear at the bottom of the screen they must appear in this order: work IM, work email, internet with work site up, Word, Excel and student system. If it’s out of order I get a little crazy.

While I feel that this isn’t odd, I never do it in front of people: I get as close to the bathroom mirror as possible and do a full-face scan. There are parts of my face that I spend more time on than others: nostrels, crooks of my eyes, and the little mole that’s on the side of my nose.

I also always pack my lunch for the next day AS SOON AS I get home from work – before changing out of work clothes or washing my face or beginning dinner.
