Weird Things I Do Daily

Check out this monster!

giant veggie burger 011

That would be my almost-to-big-for-my-mouth veggie burger bagelwich!

I wasn’t sure if I would be able to fit it all in my mouth (TWSS)…

giant veggie burger 014

But I dug deep and achieved victory!

giant veggie burger 006

On top of a toasted onion bagel, I enjoyed one of my favorite veggie burgers, topped with ketchup, mustard, relish, lettuce, tomato slices and sauerkraut.

I inhaled this lunch!

Weird Things I Do Daily

And now it’s time for some randomness!

As I took Sadie for her walk this morning, I started to think about some of the odd things I do day in and day out. I think everyone has a routine of some sort and habits they do each day.

Here are some of the odd things I find myself doing throughout any given day:

  • I always wipe the doggie eye boogers out of Sadie’s eyes immediately after I wake up.
  • I jam out to throwback CDs from my junior high and high school years as I get ready (think Alanis Morissette, ‘NSync, Night at the Roxbury soundtrack, Dave Matthews Band, OAR, etc.).
  • I ask myself whether or not I really need to shower after the gym… and then I always do. I hate showering and am convinced I never would if I didn’t work out.
  • I visit the Breast Cancer Site and click the big, pink button to give a woman a free mammogram.
  • Whenever I leave the house, I always say, “Bye, bye Sadie. I love you, baby girl. Be good. I’ll be home soon.” She understands me.
  • I think to myself that I should do more yoga.
  • I take a bite out of one of the frozen bananas I have stored in the freezer and put it back into the bag while I’m making breakfast.
  • I plan on making one thing for dinner in the morning and then change my mind after lunch (unless it’s a crock pot meal!).
  • I have an internal debate as to whether or not I should try to convince Ryan to just eat fro yo for dinner with me. (This is every day. Seriously. Thank goodness all of our fro yo places are at least 10 minutes away or have awful parking arrangements.)
  • I think about getting another dog and check vizsla rescue websites. Ryan banned me from sending him pictures of dogs that need rescuing. It makes him too sad. I tricked him into thinking I adopted a vizsla puppy about a month ago and he was actually really excited, so then I felt awful! He’s been wanting another dog for a while now, but I’m still nervous and apprehensive about it!
  • I always have to kiss Ryan good night. We’ll often be up late talking and eventually I roll on my side and get so, so tired, but I always have to kiss him goodnight or I’ll feel like it’s bad luck and I’m jinxed or something. So strange.
  • I pick at Sadie’s toenails and check her ears. She hates this. I think it’s the big sister in me coming out… I like to pester.

Ok, this is odd, but my husband usually puts my puppy out in the backyard at around the time I come home from work. When I open the garage door and see him, I scream (more like schreek) his name and at that point, he slams his paws on the ground and does circle 8’s around my oak in the backyard. I love it! Weird I know, but it makes my day. =)

I press the ‘lock’ button on my car keys twice so the car beeps. If I don’t hear the beep, then I am not confident that it is locked.

Is this a daily ritual, or a sign of ocd??? uh oh!

thank you for sharing that breast cancer website, i will start clicking the button too 🙂

whenever i leave the house i always talk to my puppy too, i say “be a good girl lucy, i’ll be home soon!” i like to tell her to be a good girl because she likes to chew up her blankets/beds in her crate.
when i was working i would come home every single day on my lunch to let her out of her crate to go potty and when i would put her back in the crate to leave to go back to work i would always tell her how many hours of work i had left and when i’d be home! i think she understand too 🙂

The only things I feel I have to do daily are things that I think of as normal like needing to eat peanut butter or tell the hubby I love him or taking my vitamin. Also, telling the animals (two cats, one crazy dog) that we’ll be right back when I leave.

I love fro yo. In fact, being that I’m home by myself tonight, I’m thinking on having it for dinner. Our fro yo place isn’t far away but does have a dreadful parking arrangement; the entire street is nothing but restaurants and the amount of parking is minimal. But it’s so freaking hot that nothing else sounds half as good.

I love the throwback CD comment! I definitely do this… ‘NSYNC, Britney Spears… o yea!

Other weird things I do daily…
    – Sing lists to myself so I won’t forget… especially grocery lists.
    – Lick my smoothie bowls and cups clean so I don’t miss out on a single drop.
    – Discuss my dinner options hours before dinner time rolls around, so I know I’m making the right choice

I used to do a similar thing to your goodnight kiss. I always had to say, “goodnight, I love you, see you in the morning” to my parents before going to bed at night or I thought something bad was going to happen. Now I have to say goodnight and I love you to my boyfriend (often via text message, boo).

    1. I roll over, sleepily grab my phone, and call my boyfriend. I hate not waking up to his voice, especially since we are doing long distance.
    2. As soon as that’s done I MUST pee as soon as I wake up. It’s impossible for me to lounge around in bed.
    3. I stretch my back out constantly. It’s more of habit now, but I like to reach my arms far out behind my head and do a back bend in my chair.

That’s all I can think of for now but I’m sure there are many more!

I always tell my puppies I love them & to be good and “I’ll be back soon!” when I leave the house. Another weird thing I do daily is that I’ll wear my glasses for as long as possible until I have to leave the house. I hate wearing contacts, but I also don’t like wearing glasses outside when it’s too sunny.

You are not alone with the dog eye boogers 🙂 Cleaning the eyes of my two dogs is either the first or second thing I do in the morning. They look so much better once I do.

As a two-dog household, I can say that I can’t imagine NOT having two dogs. Bringing in our second, Bailey, definitely had it’s moments, but most of that had to do with where we got her from.

Thea and Bailey are best buds. They entertain one another (and us 🙂 ) and just want to be close to each other…most of the time. When they are separated, like when we travel (Thea stays with my mom and Bailey gets boarded), they each get really depressed.

    I’m a big fan of the two-dog household 😉

Random story … I was at the grocery store today and saw the 2nd dog in two days in a hot car with the temp at 80 degrees or higher. Talk about being super frustrated and down on people for the last two days … reading how much you love Sadie and take care of her … helps balance my frustration with these idiot owners who have no respect for their dogs! Other odd things… my closet is pretty messy, yet every day I insist upon making the bed and doing all of the dishes before I leave the house.
    – I also hate showering and do the “do I really need to? I don’t feel *that* sweaty…” after lighter workouts
    – I always lick the peanut butter knife after I make my sandwich to take to work
    – I also talk to our pets – two dogs and a cat. And I call them all “our puppies” even though only one of them is indeed a puppy.
    – The puppy and the cat stay in our laundry room during the day, so I now call that “the Boys’ room”
    – The only reason I shop at Old Navy is for dog clothes! Halloween and 4th of July are the BEST!
