I’ve had a theory linking the random ringing of our doorbell to the power going out for a while now.
Since I work from home, I’ve been sitting at my computer when the power has shut off a couple of times. A few months ago, the moment my computer randomly turned off, the doorbell rang and yet no one was at the door. Odd.
I immediately began to wonder whether or not there was a correlation. I told Ryan my theory and he shrugged his shoulders saying it was a possibility, but certainly strange.
Well, last night, in the middle of the night, our doorbell rang. Creepy.
Sadie spiraled into a fit of crazy and ran around the house barking. Ryan and I sat up, looking at each other, admittedly a little on edge. A visit from a random looney, perhaps?
Then I saw the digital clock in our room blinking. The power went out!
I proudly proclaimed, “The doorbell rings whenever the power goes out!”
Even with our minds at ease, it was a little hard to fall back to sleep after the commotion, though nothing will top the evening when Ryan had me convinced someone was in our house. Yikes. I was on edge at nighttime for a solid week after that one.
I think the incident from last night took a lot out of Sadie.
She’s a sleepy little thing this morning. I have a feeling I’ll get about 20 minutes of sleepy Sadie before psycho Sadie returns in full force.
Sadie wasn’t even curious about what was going on in the kitchen this morning as I made breakfast.
I made a batch of banana vanilla protein pancakes and topped them with a bit of syrup to start the day. Nice and comforting.
Hopefully today will be less intense than last night!
Question of the Morning
- Have you ever been totally freaked out by something only to realize it was absolutely nothing later?
