Soft Foods for a Sore Tooth

February 28, 2012 by Julie 29 Comments

Good morning!

Yesterday I decided to blog about my time in Colorado in lieu of my day which I spent in St. Pete working until 4:15 p.m. when I made an unexpected trip to the dentist to repair a cracked filling before driving home to Ocala.

I literally had a hole in my upper left molar and am all patched up now. It’s still a little sensitive, so I’m chewing solely on my right-hand side, but hopefully my tooth will be the tough guy it once was in no time.

A sore tooth meant soft foods for breakfast!

Breakfast

Last night I prepped a batch of overnight oats which I topped with strawberry slices this morning.

It was a good one!

Workout

Before breakfast, I went to the gym with Ryan and kicked my booty!

I started with a leisurely 20 minutes on the elliptical before tackling a leg workout that was pretty tough.

I did the lunges holding two 20-pound dumbbells which made them more challenging since I usually hold 15-pound dumbbells in each hand. I could definitely feel a difference!

The Paris Wife

Just a reminder to email me a link to your review of The Paris Wife on your blog if you would like to be included in the link up on Thursday’s Book Club post. (I currently have links from Cheryl and Leah.)

I’m sorry to hear about your tooth! I hope you feel better asap! I hate issues with teeth. They always seem to happen at the worst times.

Sorry to hear about your tooth pain Julie! I’m glad it’s all fixed up now though. Your workout sounds awesome – those single leg extensions are what have been killing me lately.. I usually do 3 sets of 10 on each leg and by number 8 I’m dying! Have a fabulous day!

Oh no, I hope your tooth is back to normal soon! But I think ice cream and milkshakes are probably necessary in the meantime 🙂 Sounds like a hardcore workout – nice job!

I got a filling repaired last month and it just stopped feeling sensitive a few days ago! Apparently it was a deep filling and my dentist came really close to my nerve. Hopefully your recovery is quicker than mine was!

I broke my dang crown last week. I have a temporary one on right now. It felt like I bit down on the devil’s tongue while we were french kissing and he bit me back.

Oh I hope your tooth feels better soon! The first time I really felt tooth pain was when I got my wisdom teeth out and that was not fun!

What time did you go to the dentist? 2:30… (get it, tooth hurtie) <– eyeroll, I know. Seriously, I hope your tooth feels better. If it's still giving you trouble I recommend baby anbesol to help dull the pain.

Congrats to Sarah and best of luck on the half marathon!

I hope your tooth feels better! This post reminded me of when I got braces when I was younger.. I spent a lot of time eating soft foods after those orthodontist appts, that’s for sure.

I am still reading The Paris Wife! I hope i complete it by Thursday, but if I don’t finish by then, my review will be sometime early next week 🙂 I appreciate your book club so much Julie! It’s a great way to push me to read more instead of watching television when I have down time! Some tv is fine, but there can definitely be too much of a good thing! 🙂

I feel for you with your tooth pain. I had my wisdom tooth taken out last week, and the root broke off in my gums, and the dentist had to SAW my gums open. It was horrible and I’m still in pain.

Sorry to hear about your tooth! My question is: how did you know it wasn’t just a toothache or something? hahaha I am a bit of a hypochondriac sometimes, so I just want to know so if I feel tooth pain later, I don’t freak out that the same thing happened to me!

We love your recipes. (quick request) we try to cut out a lot of the processed carbs in our diet. So anything you can make that has high protein we will definitely give it a try.. and I’m sure we will like it. I am a dentist and so I empathize with you on your tooth 😀

    Julie,

Great post, and I love the strawberry slices touch in the oats. A trip to the dentist is something we all dread ; if only those darned fillings could stay in place for life, right? I noticed that you do a lot of resistance exercises ; what other alternative would you recommend for someone who doesn’t have access to a resistance ball?

Oatmeal goes great with any fresh fruit I like to have mine with raspberries or sometimes fresh blueberries.
