New Circuit Workouts Page

March 21, 2012 by Julie 42 Comments

I stood in front of my fridge for an inordinate amount of time around noon today.

What to have for lunch?

Nothing really sounded great, but nothing sounded bad either. I started by slicing up an apple and eating it as I gazed back into the fridge.

I think that the sweetness of the fresh apple made me want more fruity sweetness, so I decided to bust out the blender and make a smoothie using the following:

  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 1/2 frozen bananas
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 large handful fresh spinach
  • 1 large spoonful dark chocolate cocoa powder

I ended up adding the cocoa powder at the very end when I decided I was more in the mood for a chocolate smoothie than a strawberry banana smoothie.

Adding the cocoa powder turned my very-green smoothie into a sludge smoothie!

Looks like poo stew, no?

You don’t have to say it. I know I have a gift for describing my meals in a way that makes you immediately want to try them.

Despite its horrid appearance, the smoothie did a great job of filling me up and tasting great on the way down.

I followed up my smoothie with a hot mug of tea because the cold smoothie left me shakin’ in my boots!

New Circuit Workouts Page

I took some time this morning to put together a new page on the blog filled with some of my all-time favorite circuit workouts.

I know what a pain it is to try to search for workouts on this blog using only the search bar because I often do it myself, so I figured having a go-to page where a bunch of the workouts may always be found would be a good idea! I’m also working on a Treadmill Workouts page, so that should be up soon.

Below is a quick glimpse at the new Circuit Workouts page, but you may find the page in its entirety residing below the “Work It Out” tab of this blog under “Circuit Workouts.”

I hope it makes finding past workouts a bit easier for ya!

Circuit Workouts

At Home Circuit Workouts: A collection of five of my favorite circuit workouts that don’t require any equipment. Do them in your living room, a hotel room when you’re on vacation… anywhere!

Jumping Jacks Circuit Workout: A 30-minute circuit workout that incorporates lots of jumping jacks to get your heart pumpin’!

Beach Workout: My favorite workout to do on vacation! This workout includes lower-body strength moves in between half-mile running intervals.

sanibel 005_thumb

Jump Rope ‘n’ Abs Circuit Workout: A 30-minute workout that incorporates lots of core strength moves to make you sweat and work your abs.

Get Your Heart Rate Up Circuit Workout: Three rounds of completely different exercises, perfect for days when you’re feeling antsy!

See more on the Circuit Workouts page! Smile

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Such a great idea! It is hard finding workouts sometimes.
And your “poo stew” sounds fabulous! You should get poo stew trademarked too. Just in case Campbell’s gets an idea someday… Haha

Have you ever tried any of the workout plans on bodybuilding.com? I started one this past Monday in an attempt to actually get on the strength training bandwagon and so far I like it, but I’ve not talked to anyone who has actually followed the plan.

I like the new circuits page! That will be so handy. I had a smoothie after my workout last night, and even though I was really warm at first, it cooled me down so much that I had to put on a sweatshirt! I totally get having to drink tea to warm up after a smoothie 🙂 Love the “poo stew,” btw – hilarious.

Two of my best friends came to visit me this weekend, and I made myself a green smoothie for breakfast on Sunday. One of my friends, who is a very healthy eater herself, took one look at it and said, “Um. Yeah. That’s just not for me.” Haha! Looks awful, tastes great!

Hey Julie! I stumbled across your blog a few weeks ago and I have been obsessed ever since! So much useful info..thanks so much for posting everything you do!

I have been doing some of the workouts you posted along with cardio. I have desperately been trying to get myself up in the morning to work out before work (teacher) and it has been tough! Any suggestions? Also, would you suggest that the workouts you post are useful for someone who is trying to lose weight? I am 22 years old, 5’3 and 136 lbs. I want to lose 20 pounds.

    Thanks again! 🙂
