Funny Pet Names

August 29, 2012 by Julie 247 Comments

Another day, another quality Best Body Boot Camp workout! I didn’t follow the prescribed total body workout exactly today because my legs are still quite sore from Monday’s strength training and my body felt a little tired going into the workout. I scaled the workout back a bit, but still left feeling happy that I worked up a little sweat!

Breakfast

Following the gym, I ate a banana as I prepared a batch of scrambled eggs for breakfast. chiquita bananabanana peeled

Today’s batch of scrambled eggs included two eggs, apple chicken sausage and zucchini. It hit the spot!

Funny Pet Names

After breakfast, Ryan and I took Sadie on her morning walk.

I laced up my favorite pair of Reebok SmoothFlex run sneakers (first mentioned here) and also had a chance to try Reebok’s seamless long bra top that the company sent me to try.

The tank is really comfortable and I love the breathability and heather blue color.

An added bonus? The length! I hate it when workout tops are too short and this one is nice and long.

Back to our walk!

During our morning walk with Sadie, we ran into our neighbor who was out walking her dog, PeeWee. PeeWee’s name suits him perfectly, as he’s a tiny little thing with a big personality.

After saying hello, Ryan and I started talking about some of the funniest dog names we’ve heard throughout the years.

The dog park where we used to bring Sadie to run and play in Orlando was the perfect place for overhearing amazing dog names.

Our favorites:

  • Cheese
  • Frank
  • Little Dog

I think Cheese is my all-time favorite dog name. When I heard the guy yell, “CHEESE! Get over here!” I almost lost it. So unexpected!

We also thought it would’ve been funny to name Sadie something that didn’t fit her at all. Like “Spot.”

Question of the Day

  • What is the funniest or most amusing pet name you’ve heard?

When I was a little girl, we had a cat named Silly Billy, but I think Cheese takes the cake!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I can’t think of too many pet names, but I just moved to Bangkok, and some of the HUMAN names here are epic. My husband is a teacher, and his school has students with the following names: Earth, Ant, Porsche, Benz, N, Q, Warm… I was in his classroom once, and a student walked in, and my husband said “Hi, Popular.” I almost laughed out loud.

Our friends named their rescue “Ryot” and my boyfriend misheard and kept calling him “Ryan,” which just sounds hilarious because it’s so human. “Hi, I’m Andy, and this is Jim, and here’s Ryan” *points to dog*

I work at at animal hospital so I’ve heard a million funny pet names but this is my favorite… we have a client with a gray cat named “Ashy Larry”. Every time she brings him in, she tells us his given name was actually “DAMMIT!”, but she had to change it when she had kids. They named him “TreyFang”, and then somewhere along the line it was changed a third time to “Ashy Larry”!

When my mom was about 4, they got a cat. And my grandparents decided that it would be a brilliant idea to let my mom, their precious daughter, name the new family pet. So after thinking hard about it, my mom finally came up with a new name that this cat had to live with for the next 15+ years of it’s little feline life – “Duhduh”. Note to self: Never let a 4 year old name a pet.

When you make your breakfast scrambles do you just throw everything in together and cook it or do you cook the veggies/eggs separate and combine at the end??

My sister and I brought home a stray jack russell terrier several years ago. He was the cutest, sweetest little guy… but he could be quite naughty when left outside to his own devices. After digging up all of my mom’s potted plants, then jumping the fence and proceeding to aerate the entire front yard (while simultaneously biting and barking at every patch of grass he dug up) my mom decided to name him Little Sh*t… and she’s a reserved English woman who never curses! He was a spunky little dude who will always hold a special place in our hearts. RIP

I just started reading your blog and so i thought i would comment on this as one of the funniest dog name i heard is Taxi. The owner does agility and very often the dog would run around the course and she would be screaming Taxi, Taxi at the top of her lungs. Another few good ones are Bit or Whoopee.

A family from church has a Bichon named Butter. 🙂 They let their 5 year old name the dog. They vetoed the first name (I can’t remember what that was!), but agreed on Butter.
