The Princess and the Pee

July 7, 2011 by Julie 137 Comments

The princess…

And the pee.

No, not pea.

PEE.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my dog likes to potty all the time.

Sadie’s pea-sized bladder was the bane of our run today.

We set out to complete our usual five-mile loop, only my lovely running buddy decided she was going to pop a squat every half of a mile or so. We stopped at least 10 times for her to do her business. It was definitely more of a stop-start run than a fluid one.

I don’t mind stopping every now and then for Sadie’s potty breaks, but 10 times in less than 50 minutes felt a bit excessive. The air was also thick with humidity and I felt like every time we stopped, I started pouring sweat. For some reason the sweat doesn’t bother me when I’m running, but the minute I stop, I feel like the water works start and I am drenched.

Another thing I find odd? Where I sweat.

My face is literally soaked and my chest sweats like crazy, but my arm pits are completely dry. What gives? Apparently I need face and inter-boobie deodorant.

Breakfast

Post run, I came home and had one thing on the brain: Dippy eggs.

I topped one half of a toasted Thomas’ cinnamon raisin bagel thin with raspberry jelly and another half with a dippy egg and enjoyed my plate along with a cup of Greek yogurt and a hot mug of coffee.

Weird that Sadie had to stop that many times…

Where did the name dippy eggs come from?? I always call them fried eggs. I can only imagine what my family would think if I said I wanted dippy eggs!

*Taps fingers impatiently* Come on, spill! 😉 And dippy eggs are different in the uk. Its when they’re still in their shell but with runny yolks and you dip toast ‘soldiers’ in them! 🙂 Sooooo good!

I LOVED and completely appreciated the “How to curl your hair with a straightener” video!! I curl my hair with a straightener now and LOVE the look – I always loved Julie’s hair and I’m so glad to be able to duplicate the curling method! It also does stay WAY longer than when you curl hair with a curling iron.

And inner boobie deoderant … Julie you’re freakin’ hilarious =]

I sweat the same way! It is so weird! My boyfriend puts deoderant on his chest sometimes. Maybe I will try that? 😉

my philosophy is that when im running with my dogs, they stop and pee so often because they dont want to run! sometimes my dogs are lazy. and im the same way with sweating…just about everything on me sweats except for my arm pits. so weird.

That whole “sweat” phonomenon happens to me, too! I’m actually beginning to think that it’s not a figment of my imagination… and I actually DO sweat more when I’m stopping for a break. Some type of physiological thing, perhaps?

Oh and question, does Sadie *actually* pee every time y’all stop? B/c Happy pops a squat quite a bit, too, and we read somewhere that some dogs actually just squat to simulate the *action* of peeing/marking their territory and don’t actually let anything out… now that we’ve heard about this, we’ve paid more attention to Happy and we think that’s what she does! She just bluffs it to “mark” her spot!
