Leg Workout: Three 8-Minute Circuits + Finisher

October 22, 2015 by Julie 24 Comments

Burn Boot Camp is kicking my butt in the best possible way. The other day Ryan told me I light up whenever I talk about my BBC workouts and I just can’t help it. I love ‘em! Burn Boot Camp’s workouts are seriously challenging, I adore their childcare and I have yet to get bored during one of their 45-minute workouts. It’s an all-around WIN. Earlier this week, a leg workout was on the agenda and it was a killer. At first glance, it didn’t seem that bad, but a few minutes into the first circuit, I realized I was going to have to dig deep to get through it.

The workout was a partner workout but I did my best to modify it so I could share it with you guys in a way that will make it easy to follow and complete solo if you’re looking for a leg workout that will make you feel the burn!

Leg Workout - Three 8-Minute Circuits

Here are picture demos of the exercises:

  • Dumbbell Squats

  • Standing Hip Openers

  • Dumbbell Lunges

  • Hamstring Ball Curls

  • Dumbbell Bridges

  • Wall Sit

As you can see, the workout includes three 8-minute circuits for a 24-minute workout and it can easily be done at home with a set of dumbbells. We tackled the workout after a brief warm up (three minutes of 10 bodyweight squats, 10 alternating lunges and 10 squat jumps) but before we left we had a “finisher” to complete that was killer!

Oh man, my legs were on FIRE.

As we were leaving, the song “Wobble” came on and we all had to laugh because a lot of wobbling was going on at the gym after that workout, that’s for sure.

Thanks again to BBC for another great workout and for letting me share some of the fun on the blog with you guys!

DANG! 90 sec of pulsing squats? More like 90 sec of whimper pulses!!!! hahaha – great workout! I’m trying to get ready for ski season and this looks like a good burner!

Woof – such an INTENSE resistance workout. Looks great, though. Great idea to modify your group classes for the blog – I’ve been debating on how to handle participating in classes, but balancing my health/fitness blog. This looks like a great idea! Thanks for the tips. 🙂

I always forget how tough wall sits are. They look deceptively easy but they’re tough.

I’ve been trying the leg workouts in the Kayla guides, but I think I’ll take a break today and do this–or as much as I can handle lol!

For some reason, breaking a workout up into 8 minute parts makes it so much more manageable. Thanks for sharing, Julie!

That definitely looks like a workout that would induce wobbly legs!
I always like it when there are strength moves and cardio moves combined…
Those pulsing squats and jump squat combos must have been killer.
