A New Month

August 1, 2011 by Julie 91 Comments

Another new month is upon us! Happy August! Open-mouthed smile

I consider August the last month of summer, so I want to make sure August is a memorable, fun month. I know I don’t technically go back to school in September, but it seems like people fall into a more serious work mode in the fall and go on less vacations. There’s something special about the summer, so I hope to enjoy this final month!

July was a bit of a rollercoaster month when it comes to my emotions. Some amazing events, some stressful situations, but in the end it was definitely a month to remember!

  • I was a bridesmaid in my friend Leah’s wedding in Chicago

leah's wedding 010

  • I attended my first blogger conference
  • Ryan accepted a new job and I announced our plans to move to Ocala
  • We officially moved out of our apartment in Orlando

July Recipes:

  • Soy Glazed Salmon
  • Banana Bread Mini Loaf

  • Cinnamon Chia Seed Granola

July Workouts:

  • Mega Circuit Workout
  • Super Hard Treadmill Incline Run/Walk
  • Total-Body Weights Workout

And that brings us to TODAY!

Breakfast

Since we’re back to living the temporary housing life, you know what that means…

egg sandwich 001

Hotel breakfasts!

I made myself an egg sandwich using scrambled eggs with cheese, ham and sausage.

I went back for seconds of the eggs (they were so cheesy!) and also ate the top of a muffin as I was waiting for my English muffin to toast.

Not a bad morning meal!

Question of the Morning

  • What are you most looking forward to in August?

I am triple crossing my fingers that we find a place to rent and move into a new home in August. I can’t wait to start getting settled in Ocala and officially have a place to call “home.” I am also really looking forward to attending the Healthy Living Summit at the end of the month.

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I’m excited that I’m entering my last month of pregnancy! And that hopefully I’ll regain my ability to think clearly soon 🙂

Also, can we start planning HLS for next year? I hate that I won’t be able to make it to this year’s!

I completely consider August the end of summer. I will forever have the excited “back to school” feeling about September.

So I’m totally with you on making this last month of summer count 🙂

That really isn’t bad for a hotel breakfast at all – and it makes me realize that I need to head down in MY hotel and get one myself!

I’m looking forward to going to visit my parents for the first time this summer! They’re only 3 hours away, but summer’s been so busy that I haven’t gotten the chance to go! And, the weekend I’m going, I get to watch a lifeguard race, do an open water swim, compete in a triathlon, and lay on the beach. SO EXCITED!

You have definitely had a whirlwind month! I hope you get to look back on August as the month when you got comfortably settled into your new home.

In August, I’m looking forward to getting my cardiovascular fitness back to the point where I can again enjoy my running and can tackle the increasing mileage for my October half-marathon. I’m also looking forward to doing some seriously thinking about how I earn my keep in this world. I am a weary corporate American!

I just started a new job and I have to figure out where I’m living. I can work from home, but need to be in DC once a week. I’m trying to figure out if that’s negotiable at all because I’d really like to move back to Michigan where my family is and be in DC for 3-4 days one week a month. If that won’t work, then I have to decide if I want to stay here in Richmond or move up closer to DC. Gah! So much to think about! :/
