A Valentine for You

February 14, 2013 by Julie 84 Comments

A valentine made just for you with love from me and crazy Sadie!

Happy Valentine's Day

We love you guys!

Workout

Today’s workout began with 20 minutes of cardio. I read the latest issue of Fitness magazine (and saw one of Cassey’s tank tops featured!) and finished my time on the stair master feeling warmed up and ready to complete a Best Body Boot Camp workout.

Today’s workout took me through a high intensity circuit that included a lot of exercises that targeted my lower body. I did the same one last week and was sore for two days! I think the side squat to hip abduction deserves all the credit for the soreness!  (You can see an example of how to do this exercise at 1:25 in this video by Cathe.)

Breakfast

Shredded cheese stole the show this morning.

scrambled eggs 001

I made myself a bowl of scrambled eggs with shredded cheese, chopped peppers and chicken sausage.

scrambled eggs 003

Not a bad way to start the day!

I’m planning to work through the morning on my first fitness-related freelance assignment! (NASM folks, the title of the article is “The Return of the Twist” and it’s all about working out in the transverse plane.) Then, around lunchtime, I’m planning to head out to find some fun things for Ryan for Valentine’s Day as part of our $20 Valentine’s Day Mission! I also have a fantastically embarrassing idea for Ryan’s homemade valentine this year, so I need to get that done at some point as well.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Question of the Morning

  • Do you have any plans to celebrate Valentine’s Day today?

Ryan and I are planning on making a nice dinner at home together before exchanging our $20 gifts. Low key and fabulous!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Thanks for the Valentine! Too funny 🙂 I love your low-key v-day plans and that you both do a $20 exchange. I wanna start doing that.

My husband is actually on a business trip this week, so I’m spending the day with just my pup. But he’s a pretty good Valentine if you ask me. We’re celebrating for “real” on Saturday by touring a bunch of chocolate shops and going for Italian for dinner.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

No plans for celebrating tonight – I have to sit in class all night! (boo) But we’re going to try a hibachi place for dinner tomorrow. Seems kinda weird to sit at a table full of complete strangers and eat a dinner, but I’m excited to try some new foods. Happy V-Day to you!

We always seem to do big things right before Valentine’s Day and don’t end up doing anything special on the actual day. This year we went on our honeymoon. Two years ago he proposed about 2 weeks before Valentine’s Day. That is fine by me though. As long as I eat chocolate at some point today I’m good.

Low key valanetine’s days are the best. Restaurants are too busy! We’re actually having dinner with his aunt and cousins tonight, then we usually just exchange cards and a small stupid gift – this year’s gift is dunkin donuts k cups for our new keurig! No need to break the bank!

No Valentine’s Day plans for this single lady, other than attempting to fall in love with the pool. I’m doing an indoor tri in two weeks (inspired by your indoor tri experience last summer!), and swimming is without question my weakest discipline. Practice makes perfect though, right? So I’ve got a date with the pool, and hopefully we’ll really grow in our relationship today 😛

Aw, thanks, Sadie 😉 I am all about the low key Valentine’s Day! I think my boyfriend and I will have dinner at home together and then catch up on our favorite shows while cuddling with the dog. As for gifts, I baked brownies in a round pan last night and cut it into a big heart, but gave it to the boyfriend last night because they’d taste better if they were fresher (I have no time to bake today). Turns out King Arthur’s Flour’s brownie mix is the bomb!
