Chocolate Almond Milk Foam

February 20, 2013 by Julie 57 Comments

Mountain climbers. My day began with one billion mountain climbers.

Today’s Best Body Boot Camp workout paired a strength exercise with a cardio burst exercise. And yes, mountain climbers popped up a lot. I did four rounds of the circuit and my face was dripping sweat. I still don’t understand why my face sweats ten times more than the rest of my body. What a joy.

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning began with a cup of Greek yogurt that I ate while I prepared a batch of scrambled eggs with chopped peppers, shredded cheese, feta cheese and avocado.

Chobani pear Greek yogurt

eggs and avocado

In the middle of writing this blog post, I got a craving for coffee and made myself a cup of peppermint mocha coffee and topped it with frothy chocolate almond milk.

Not a bad way to start the day!

Blog Updates

  • The fabulous Ryan helped me figure out what was going on with the Blendtec giveaway and I was able to work with Site 5 (my website host) to get it working again yesterday! I’m sorry some of you had a hard time entering, but it is up and running again. Thank you for your patience!
  • We also figured out that the Fashion page wasn’t updating, so you can see two previous posts here and here. Apparently they were popping up in Google Reader, but not on the actual page. Technology rocks!

When I was in 3rd grade (a long time ago) our teacher would take us for some gym time every day. I remember one of her favorite things to have us do was mountain climbers – but she’d have us do 10 and then jump up and do jumping jacks and then back to the climbers again. At the time, it was actually fun and probably smart on her part because it burned off a lot of excess energy. 🙂

Ahhh, mountain climbers rival burpees for most hated metabolic conditioning exercise! Gets the HR up *and* burns out those legs. How did you froth up the almond milk like that? Do you have a frother (I’m sure that’s not the technical term, LOL)?

I had some leftover meatloaf and decided to try one of your scrambled egg “mix ups”. That’s my name for it anyway! So I crumbled up the meatloaf, scrambled two eggs and added diced red and yellow pepper. It was yummy! Great way to get some veggies and use the leftovers. Thanks!

Julie, I have been following you for a while and am so amazed by your work-out dedication. I have more than enough time in the morning to exercise before work. And I don’t. I keep hitting snooze. It’s just me so I’m responsible for myself but I can’t seem to do it. Any suggestions?

I really need to invest in a good frother. I love foamy milk in my coffee, but I usually just end up going to Starbucks and ordering a cappuccino. A frother might save me some money, buuuuuut then again, I kind of go to Bux because I like sitting in the coffee shop, so having a frother at home might just increase my caffeine consumption 😉
