Funny Pet Names

August 29, 2012 by Julie 247 Comments

Another day, another quality Best Body Boot Camp workout! I didn’t follow the prescribed total body workout exactly today because my legs are still quite sore from Monday’s strength training and my body felt a little tired going into the workout. I scaled the workout back a bit, but still left feeling happy that I worked up a little sweat!

Breakfast

Following the gym, I ate a banana as I prepared a batch of scrambled eggs for breakfast. chiquita bananabanana peeled

Today’s batch of scrambled eggs included two eggs, apple chicken sausage and zucchini. It hit the spot!

Funny Pet Names

After breakfast, Ryan and I took Sadie on her morning walk.

I laced up my favorite pair of Reebok SmoothFlex run sneakers (first mentioned here) and also had a chance to try Reebok’s seamless long bra top that the company sent me to try.

julie in reebok gear

The tank is really comfortable and I love the breathability and heather blue color.

reebok blue long tank

An added bonus? The length! I hate it when workout tops are too short and this one is nice and long.

Back to our walk!

During our morning walk with Sadie, we ran into our neighbor who was out walking her dog, PeeWee. PeeWee’s name suits him perfectly, as he’s a tiny little thing with a big personality.

After saying hello, Ryan and I started talking about some of the funniest dog names we’ve heard throughout the years.

The dog park where we used to bring Sadie to run and play in Orlando was the perfect place for overhearing amazing dog names.

Our favorites:

  • Cheese
  • Frank
  • Little Dog

I think Cheese is my all-time favorite dog name. When I heard the guy yell, “CHEESE! Get over here!” I almost lost it. So unexpected!

We also thought it would’ve been funny to name Sadie something that didn’t fit her at all. Like “Spot.”

Question of the Day

  • What is the funniest or most amusing pet name you’ve heard?

When I was a little girl, we had a cat named Silly Billy, but I think Cheese takes the cake!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I had a cow name funny face. His head was a long and lean unlike most cows. Now that I think about it it was kind of a mean name. He was a great cow though.

My dog’s name is Aumlette (pronounced like omelet). My dear husband named him. I thank him each and every time Aumlette digs under the fence and gets out and I have to drive around yelling “omelet” out the window. My neighbors must think I am crazy.

OMG, Frank! I love it when pets have human names! My family named our dog, Abby, when we saw a “dear Abby” column posted on the bulletin board at the rescue shelter where we got her. We often call her “Gail” because it sounds refined and sophisticated, which Abby is not! And, of course, we think it’s funny!

My dog’s name is Axell Rose I couldn’t decide what to name her, and a GNR song came on the radio and I knew Axell was it. Since she was a girl, I looked online and tried to find a female spelling of it and found “Axell”. I want to say it was African? But even with her bright pink collar everyone who sees her calls her a boy!

Eeeek! You post this as I am trying to figure out if I want to take the plunge and get a dog. (I know someone who rescued some puppies, and I think I’m going to take a look today!) It’s a sign!

If I get a dog, I’m going to name her MR F. (It’s an Arrested Development reference, so it’s hilarious if you watch the show)

I’d have to say Paper is the funniest dog name I’ve ever heard. Our dog is named Susan (she is a german shorthair pointer), she is a rescue so she came with the name but we kept it cause she is such a lady like, almost calm gsp which is really rare. When people ask her name and I say Susan, they always think I mean my name is Susan.
