Heavy Handed

July 17, 2012 by Julie 69 Comments

I was a little heavy handed with the olive oil in the kitchen this evening.

Care for some super-slick sausage, onion and peppers?

sausage onion peppers

When I’ve made Italian sausage with peppers and onions in the past, I let everything cook in the oven. Tonight I cooked everything on the stove top because I wasn’t too hungry when dinnertime rolled around thanks to a later-than-usual afternoon snack and didn’t feel like putting a ton of effort my evening meal. While preparing this dish, I used a little too much olive oil. It was still yummy but a little too oily.

Since I am a VIP member of the clean plate club, I still ate every last bite.

And now, just for fun, how COOL is this?!?!

water float island

I saw this picture on Facebook earlier today and now I am on a mission to find this little place that I’ll call Heaven on Earth. Apparently there’s something similar at the TradeWinds Resort in St. Pete which means I may be paying them a visit this weekend since I’ll be in the Tampa Bay area for my mom’s birthday and my friend Leah’s bridal shower.

That fun water float also reminds me of another water toy that I’ve longed to find for years… THE BLOB!

the blob

the blob heavyweights

If you’ve seen the movie Heavyweights you know what I’m talking about and probably have the same desire to experience The Blob firsthand.

Now I’m off to walk Sadie with Ryan and hopefully begin reading this month’s book club selection!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

My parents always said they were too dangerous, but if you fall off of the water ones, well heck that’s even better!

We were at TradeWinds in January to consider it for our wedding reception and there were people on their big float! It was 50 degrees tops, people are caaaaa-razy!…besides that little detail it looked like fun, albiet much smaller than the one above and obviously not nearly as awesome as the blob (because well, nothing is!)

There is a “family camp” weekend that our church does and they have a blob. It always ends up being a weekend we can’t go for some reason so I have still yet to experience it. I’m with you though and think it would be SO cool!

The YMCA I used to go to in Raleigh had a BLOB for their indoor pool. They used it for the summer day camp. I used look at it with envy while doing doggy paddle laps. I should probably learn to swim . . . but doggy paddling will make you sweat too!

At the beach about an hour away from where I live they’ve got two of the water trampolines. I remember going on them once a few years ago and it was awesome.

    Hi Juie!

Did you see my facebook comment on this post today? (or was it pinterest? haha).

Last year for our family cruise, my dad found this place called Mr. Sanchos in Cozumel, Mexico. It is basically an all-inclusive place where you can go all day (like an excursion) to play, drink, eat, etc. There is a pool, hammocks, the beautiful beach, kayaks, snorkeling, volleyball, bar swings, a swim up bar, and so much more!

However– best part is the “water park”! It has all sorts of FUN things like mini blobs, a huge “mountain” to climb and jump off of, little things to try to run across, trampollines, and so much more!!

You can look that place up OR they are also on facebook. We recently went with my husband’s class in May (they just graduated from UCF- Doctor’s of Physical Therapy), and it was so, so fun! Especially watching those intoxicated “try” to play and climb up all the pieces… 😉

It was at a summer camp and I would go on it about 2000 times a day! It was the more fun thing about camp I think hah.
