Hot Morning

June 10, 2012 by Julie 26 Comments

Even though summer doesn’t technically begin until June 20, it certainly feels like summer in Florida already.

Ryan and I took Sadie on a walk around 7:30 a.m. and returned sweaty. The sun was already blazing before 8 a.m. and the humidity was kickin’.

When we arrived back home, I made myself a cold mock-Frappuccino coffee drink to help me cool off as I type up this blog post.

frappuccino recipe

In the blender I combined approximately 1 1/2 cups of ice with a packet of Taster’s Choice instant coffee dissolved in 1/4 cup of hot water, 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder and some stevia until it was sweet enough for my liking. Yum!

Breakfast

Before our hot walk, we ate a hot breakfast. In retrospect, this probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but it was tasty!

I made scrambled eggs with chopped veggies and mozzarella cheese, served with a toasted Publix bagel topped with whipped butter.

Our plans for the day are up in the air. We’re thinking about visiting the springs nearby, but the weather is calling for rain again this afternoon, so we’ll see!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

It looks like a lot of fun and a great way to learn more about blogging but was too expensive for me to swing this year and I wanted to save $$ b/c I am traveling for a bachelorette party w/ friends at the end of Aug. I’ve never been to a BlogHer conference before and would love to see what they’re all about some day!

Yum! That breakfast looks awesome! I’ve heard the weather, at home in Florida, has been quite yucky! I’ve been on vacation and mostly dodging the weather but now I’m in Alabama and it’s not great here either. I’d love a nice sunny pool day but that is not going to happen:( I hope it holds up for you to go to the springs though!

I’ve been making a protein iced coffee after my workouts lately and loving it: iced coffee, dash of milk and half a scoop of vanilla Sunwarrior!…tastes even better than a “tall iced Americano with a pump of vanilla syrup” ;)!

Julie, do you know if there are any large supermarket chains that sell alternative bagels? I don’t think there are any Publixes around here….

I buy the Alternative bagels at my local Wal-Mart!! They are in the refrigerated section near the cream cheese.
