PB & C

January 21, 2011 by Julie 49 Comments

Thank you so much for your feedback last night regarding a fashion page on this blog. I have some research and logistical work to do before the page is live, but it’s definitely in the works. I’m glad you guys seem to share my love for clothes! 😀

Workout

It’s a rainy day in Central Florida. I think the dreary weather caused me to crave a super-simple workout.

I decided to bump my typical weight-training routine to tomorrow morning in favor of a steady-state cardio session split between the arc trainer and the elliptical.

Steady State

I jammed out to the Lady Gaga station on Pandora on my phone. (Tina was right. This station rocks!) Pony by Ginuwine was my favorite surprise notably awesome and wonderfully inappropriate song that blasted into my headphones about 20 minutes into my 50-minute workout.

Breakfast

After completing our workouts, Ryan and I headed home for some food.

On the menu today was a peanut butter and cranberry sauce bagelwich.

PB & C

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

I spread half of a toasted whole wheat bagel thin with a thick smear of peanut butter while the other half was topped with homemade cranberry sauce. Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean my love for homemade cranberry sauce has dissipated!

Ready for Eatin'

Though nothing can beat a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I love recreating pb & j’s and making my own versions:

  • PB & A
  • PB & P
  • PB & N
  • PB & PPB

All are highly recommended by this peanut butter lover.

Coming Up

Ryan has the day off today (he gets every other Friday off work) and said he has an idea for a guest post that he’s going to email to me later today. Stay tuned! (You may see his first guest post here.)

Your homemade cranberry sauce looks so good! I need to try this with my bag of cranberries. They have been sitting there for a week and I have no idea what to do with them.

Peanut Butter and Cranberry sauce sounds so good on a bagel! How do you make your cranberry sauce? I’ve never made homemade before. I’d be interested to see how you make it. 🙂

i make it following the recipe on the back of the bag! bring 1 c. water & 1 one c. sugar to a boil, dump in cranberries and let simmer until they pop and the sauce becomes thick. i don’t measure the sugar, but i definitely use less than the 1 c. the recipe calls for b/c i like a slightly tart taste.

Not trying to be obnoxious, but simple and simplistic don’t mean the same thing. Simplistic means excessively simple, simple to a fault. I don’t think you would describe a workout as simplistic.

It was obscenely delicious and was something I WILL make again! It was like making dessert for breakfast and I had to resist a second!

Where are you getting your cranberries?! I have been craving cranberry sauce after seeing it on your blog several times and every grocery store tells me that cranberries are very out of season and I won’t be able to get them anywhere. Of course I do live in Chicago, which probably explains a lot haha.

Also…because of your love for body pump, I actually took a class the other night for the first time. I am hooked! I love being able to work my muscles head to toe in one hour. That class will totally breath new life into my workout routine! Thanks!!!

Your breky looks goods…if you look at the picture of it with the light reflecting on the plate it kind of looks like a happy face lol. I still make cranberry sauce too, but with frozen crans, stevia or sweet n’ low. Cranberries are so healthy too! (probably not when I make em with sweet n’ low though)
