Splash of Eggnog

November 14, 2012 by Julie 79 Comments

Good morning!

I hope your day is off to a good start!

My Wednesday began with an early morning workout. I kicked off my time at the gym with 20 minutes on the elliptical before completing Workout C from Tina’s Best Body Boot Camp.

Since I’m on week two of phase two of the boot camp, I have already completed Workout C once before and I think I can safely say it’s my favorite boot camp workout to date. It incorporates bursts of cardio with a total body strength training routine that includes five second holds that make my muscles burn. I love it!

Breakfast

Breakfast came together in a flash thanks to a little bit of prep work last night.

Overnight Oats Walnuts

I made a batch of overnight oats and topped them with a sprinkling of walnuts this morning.

Overnight Oats

I also added a splash of eggnog to give the oats a little holiday flare before digging in.

TGLee Eggnog

‘Tis the season!

Question of the Morning

  • What is your favorite holiday beverage? Eggnog? Hot chocolate? Spiced cider?

I am a sucker for peppermint hot chocolate with extra whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Yes!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I had overnight oats (in a jar) for breakfast this morning, too! Great minds … 🙂 I love hot chocolate and spiced cider, but I don’t care for eggnog; I can’t get past the thicker texture. I also love chocolate too much to pass it up. 😉

Julie, your eats always look so good OMG lol. Ever since I made your baked oatmeal, my mom won’t shut up, she keeps asking for more and more -_-. Your overnight oats look delicious and definitely scream Fall. My favorite holiday beverage has to be hot chocolate. I always make it with almond milk, cinnamon and a bit of nutmeg. I wish I could chug down eggnog, but I simply can not… it just freaks me out a bit lol. Hope you have a great day!:)

Hands down, hot chocolate! My favorite hot chocolate is the kind you make from hot chocolate shavings… that way when you get to the buttom of your cup, the “dregs” are extra-thick (extra-medium, some might say) and fudgy. 🙂

ha! look at all the typos in that comment… sorry, Julie! It is a Wednesday, after all.

      Translation:
hot chocolate shavings = chocolate shavings
      buttom = bottom

But now that I think about it, “buttom” could totally be a replacement for bottom.

eggnog is my favorite, but I think that comes from the fact you can only get it a couple months out of the year.I can get hot chocolate and cider pretty much all winter, leaving me more excited over eggnog. I definitely bought my first (of several) cartons on Monday and was so excited!! Plus, eggnog from scratch is harder to make than cider or peppermint hot cocoa!

Favorite holiday beverage would be hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows (the more the better!) Frankly, I’d probably drink this year round, but I usually get weird looks if I try to order hot beverages during the summer. So now I shame-drink my hot chocolate in the privacy of my own home.
