Things I’m Loving Friday #121

February 12, 2016 by Julie 39 Comments

Hello, hello!

It’s time for your weekly Things I’m Loving Friday blog post where we all chat about what we’re loving most this week. Woop! Please feel free to play along in the comments section and tell me about something that is making you smile right now.

One thing that is making me smile is the weekend. Ryan worked some long hours this week and missed evening playtime with Chase a few days in a row, so we’re more than ready for some quality family time. Plus, Valentine’s Day is Sunday and even though we’re keeping things low key this year, I’m looking forward to the lovey-dovey holiday. I think heart-shaped pancakes may have to happen on Sunday morning…

Have a great weekend, my friends!

Things I’m Loving Friday

  • Endangered Species Dark Chocolate

Endangered Species Dark Chocolate

This was an impulse buy at the grocery store last week that morphed into a very intentional buy at the grocery store this week. This chocolate is so dark and only slightly sweet but I absolutely love it! I’ve been enjoying a square after lunch or dinner with a smear of crunchy peanut butter on top.

  • Baked Oatmeal

Baked Oatmeal

I made a batch of this baked oatmeal on Tuesday and it made breakfast this week a breeze! It’s a simple recipe and tastes great alone or topped with Greek yogurt and fresh berries. A great grab-and-go option for you busy bees out there!

  • Stitchtagram

Stitchtagram Pouch

This adorable little coin pouch was a Christmas gift from my blogging buddy, Anne! I think it is just the cutest! She made it using pics from my Instagram account and I use it to store coupons and keep it in my purse. It never fails to make me smile when I reach for it at the grocery store every week and I think it was such a creative and personal gift! After checking out the Stitchtagram site, I saw that they make a small handful of different Instagram photo friendly products including pillows, pouches and bags. Thanks again for the thoughtful gift, Anne!!

  • BabyShoeGame Instagram Account

Pizza Baby Shoes

I randomly discovered this Instagram account last week and think it’s way too cute! I love all the adorable foodie shoes they post and even though Chase is currently living in footie pajamas, I have a feeling I may become a big-time sucker for cute baby shoes once he actually needs them.

  • Brittany’s Dark Chocolate and Date No Bake Brownies

Dark Chocolate No Bake Brownies

On Wednesday I headed over to Brittany’s house for our weekly small group meet up and couldn’t resist diving into the no bake brownies she made for everyone to enjoy. You guys, these things are ridiculously tasty. And waaay more satisfying than usual brownies. They’re also vegan, raw and completely delicious. Brittany kills it in the kitchen again!

I had to come back and comment after reading your posts: THANK YOU for so many sweet ideas! My boyfriend and I are going to start a two year long distance relationship starting this summer and the ‘Open When’ cards just made me tear up! I will make this for him for his birthday which is right before our separation starts. Are you a helpless romantic like me?! 😀 It’s a perfect idea. Thank you so much! 😀

    Hi Julie!

Happy Valentine’s Day weekend 🙂 We also plan on heart-shaped pancakes on Sunday morning!

We’re in the opposite situation over here as far my husband being home. He’s had normal hours all week but has to work this weekend, wahhhh!!! We’ll still do something small for Valentine’s Day, though. I’m thinking crafts and baking with my daughters while he’s gone and then him and I will make a nice dinner once the girls go to sleep.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I have to admit that I’m not the biggest baby person or go crazy over baby pictures, but baby SHOES are so adorable! I think I’m going to have to check out that instagram account. Seriously, is there anything cuter than little tiny baby shoes?

The thing I’m loving this week is the gorgeous weather we’re having in Colorado! It’s been in the 50’s and is supposed to get even nicer.

Yum, that baked oatmeal looks delicious. I love warm baked oatmeal on cold winter mornings! This week I have been loving the rosehip seed oil (as per your recommendation!) I even told my mom she had to try it too. I also tried Hail Merry Vegan macaroons, and omg they taste like raw cookie dough. A total impulse buy this week, but next week it’ll end up on my grocery list!

It is my birthday tomorrow so obviously that is the #1 thing that I am loving this Friday!! I am also looking forward to spending Valentine’s day with my boyfriend! 🙂 We have a dinner reservation this Sunday at a seafood place, big seafood fan over here so I’m pretty excited about that. I hope you have an amazing weekend and Valentine’s Day with your hubby, baby, and pup! xoxo

I love the endangered chocolates! My favourite is the dark chocolate espresso. So good, especially because it’s dairy free! You never realise how much you love something until you can’t have it, so when I found that, wow so happy!
Also love baked oatmeal. I first learned about over night oats from your site, they totally changed my view of what oatmeal could be. I’m so glad I found healthy ways to enjoy oats, instead of drowning them in brown sugar 🙂
My favourite baked oats are mixed with berries and coconut oil and just a touch of pure maple. Plus some chai seed and hemp hearts to really pack a punch!
Thanks all your finds and happy Friday!

Great ideas. This week I’m loving a gift I received from a neighbor who’s moving. A handmade Goat Milk Soap, in Oatmeal, Milk & Honey. First time I’ve ever tried a handmade soap. It’s absolutely wonderful. Great lather, makes your skin feel great.

One thing I am loving this week was a relaxing happy hour with friends last night featuring some of Michigan’s best beer – Bell’s Hopslam – here in D.C. After a long week of interviewing for a promotion, I definitely needed that! Then, coming home to my boyfriend, my cat, and a beautiful bouquet of pink roses topped it all off. Happy Valentine’s Day!
